Methods for resolving conflicts

The modern world with its rhythm of life can not do without conflicts of interests, and the ability to adequately resolve them should become mandatory for every person. Conflict is a confrontation between parties that are aware of the difference in their goals. This understanding is very important, judging from the point of view of modern methods of solving problem situations that tend to nonviolence. Non-violent methods of conflict resolution lead to an agreement between the opposing sides, taking into account the interests of each of them.

In the 1970s, scientists paid more attention to the problems of governance, regulation and content of clashes of interests, but modernity requires greater emphasis on prevention and resolution technologies.

What methods of conflict resolution exist

To date, there are many ways to solve problem situations, we will consider the main. Conflict management methods , as a rule, are related to the concept of impact (regulation), the same approach that involves cooperation and compromise - with the concept of permission.

If a method of regulation is chosen, the result of opposing the parties is a situation in which each of them remains for personal interests, forcing the opposite to act against its own. The result of such confrontation can only be a loss of one of the parties, sometimes both. Coercion, with which the regulatory method is associated, leads to the fact that the parties involved in the collision can not continue the relationship.

Such forceful methods of conflict resolution have shortcomings in any situation, whether it is a "win-lose" or a "losing-loss" scheme. When choosing a specific scheme, opponents also choose where the energy will be directed.

In the "win-lose" scheme, the energy is directed not at resolving the conflict as such, but against each other. When choosing a "loss-lose" scheme, problems are either avoided or they are tried to solve it by compromise.

Conflict resolution methods, built on cooperation, allow to stop the confrontation by direct interaction of the parties, or with the help of the participation of a third party. Participants analyze the causes and content of disagreements, seeking to maximize the convergence of positions and reach an agreement in the light of all interests. This method is more preferable, as a result, neither side gets any advantages, and their relations can continue to develop on a solid basis.

This method is based on negotiations. In fact, the preparation for these very negotiations is already a partial resolution of the conflict, it includes:

  • Preparation of the plan;
  • Implementation of the program;
  • The fulfillment by both parties of the agreements adopted.

Each stage of this process involves the solution of specific problems, the totality of which leads to a successful solution of the problem that has arisen.

How to learn to solve conflicts

Any difficult situation can be solved with minimal losses for all interested parties. In this excellent help will be a special training in conflict resolution. Its goal is to teach effective methods of adequate personal behavior.

The training will help to understand that the conflict is normal. The whole abnormality of any conflict of interests lies in the fact that his decision is allowed to drift. The practice of the training will allow participants to understand what are the signs of conflict: verbal disagreement, lack of open communication, preservation of distance, negative thoughts about the opponent, suspicion and distrust.

There are some methods to deal with problem situations:

  • Emotional discharge;
  • Exit from conflict without winners and losers;
  • Extraction from the situation of benefit and others.

Visiting the training, you can make a picture of how to properly solve any conflicts that arise, which can not be avoided with the modern rhythm of life.
