About the concept

Probably, all people have heard such a notion as "mesalliance". This is a term that simply means unequal marriage. Earlier so called socially unequal marriages, today this term was somewhat transformed and expanded its borders.

Social Mesalans

The most common and ancient kind of unequal marriage is a social mesalliance. It is a union of people from different social strata, from different classes. An example can be a couple consisting of a simple worker at the construction site and a professor's daughter, the son of a diplomat and the daughter of an ordinary rural milkmaid. It should be noted that such relations very rarely cross the threshold of acquaintance with parents, because often relatives of a more "strong" party are trying their best to get rid of the wrongly chosen half of their child.

Intellectual Mesalans

Quite interesting is the intellectual mesalliance - it is a union of people with different levels of mental development. It is noteworthy that if paired with an intelligent man, a stupid woman is normal. A man stands out favorably against his wife's background, and this is considered normal. However, if a woman is more intelligent than her husband, the lady will often regret, because in a modern (yet patriarchal) society it is believed that the family is leading a man. And how can he be the head of the family if he is scanty mind?

National Mesalans

The next sub-type of unequal relations is the national mesalliance. It is a marriage of people of different nationalities. Now interethnic marriage is not surprising, but before such a relationship was a rarity: very few people wanted to "mix" their blood. Problems in such marriages are quite large, because it is often very difficult to combine the rites and traditions of various nations, and most conflicts arise on religious grounds.

Political Mesalans

A fairly new kind is a political misalliance in a marriage. It arose in our territory after the collapse of the Soviet Union, when there was one party. Today there are many of them, as well as political views and attitudes. A union of people with different political views is called a political mezalian.

Household mesalliance

There is also a household mezalians. To this kind of relationship can be attributed almost any pair. A woman is a clean-shaven man and a confused man who throws his socks everywhere; A woman-pacifist and a man-military and so on. Variations of the household mezalians are numerous.

In any situation, you can find both its minuses and pluses. If an unequal by certain criteria the couple wants to be together (what to do, these are the games of fate), mesalliance is not so scary. A huge plus may be the fact that one of the partners, who clearly loses against the background of another, will begin to strive for a higher level. It is perfectly disciplined and makes a person develop, and self-improvement has never hurt anyone.
