Men's braids: kinds, weaving lessons

Since ancient times, the braid of men symbolized courage and courage. They were worn by representatives of steppe nomadic tribes (Mongols, Huns, Scythians), and Scandinavian Vikings. And although modern society prefers to see short haircuts on the head of a strong half of humanity, various pigtails gradually turn into fashionable men's hairstyles. Photos and descriptions of them are presented in our article. Here we will also present the sequence of braiding of male braids.

Fashionable men's hairstyles: photo, description

Long men's haircuts are in fashion today. Thanks to the skillful hands of the master, even with hair below the shoulders, a man can look stylish and neat. If the thickness of the hair allows, then the lateral strands are completely cut, only the upper wide sector remains, on which the weaving is subsequently performed. The most common are the French braid and the French spit on the contrary, as well as the fish tail.

Men's hairstyles with a pigtail on the back of the head (like those of the ancient Chinese and Mongols) also enjoy wide popularity. In this case, the usual masculine haircut is performed and only at the nape of the head is a strand of hair of arbitrary thickness, which is braided into a regular pigtail.

Breides

In translation, the word "brad" means "pigtail" or "weave". There are several varieties of this hairstyle, which is equally used by both women and men. Breud is a hairstyle consisting of a multitude, usually no less than 100, thin plaits. They braid themselves from their own hair or partially into their locks the synthetic material kanekalon is weaved. Depending on the method of weaving, African and French plaits are distinguished.

African are freely hanging thin pigtails, in which often weave strands of kanekalon or ribbons. They keep on the head for up to two months and do not require correction.

French pigtails are very dense to the surface of the head. The principle of weaving is very similar to the French braid, so they got that name. This, perhaps, is the most popular and common male pigtails. Due to the change in the directions of weaving, the master creates amazing hair patterns on his head.

African plaits

The basis for many male hairstyles on medium and long hair are African braids. Special lessons in plaiting braids allow everyone to learn this ancient skill. Even the Breides, popular among men, are braided according to the principle of African braids.

African braids are braided in the following sequence:

  1. A bunch of hair of any thickness stands out on the head.
  2. The bundle is divided into 3 identical strands, while the lateral strands are held by the little fingers, and the central strand is held by the thumb and forefinger.
  3. The braiding of the pigtail is carried out through the bottom, that is, first the right strand is shifted under the central strand, and then left, and so on.

Men's hairstyles with a pigtail have many varieties. African pigtails can be gathered in a bun at the back of the head or even weave them directly over the surface of the head, forming unique patterns of hair.

French men's braids: how to weave

French braids are one of the varieties of brady. Unlike African, which are braided from the locks selected anywhere in the head, the French begin with the edge of hair growth.

French men's braids are braided in such a sequence:

  1. Two strings from the edge of hair growth are allocated a strand of arbitrary thickness (the thinner, the better).
  2. From the edge line of hair growth, the strand is divided into 3 parts. The technique of weaving "through the bottom" is carried out as in African plaits, but a part of the hair from the selected sector is added to each central strand.
  3. The weaving is carried out as close as possible to the surface of the head. The result is a thin and dense pigtail.
  4. In a similar manner weaving over the head surface is performed to any level, before the onset of the occipital part or until the end of hair growth. Next you need to continue to weave an African pigtail.

French braid braids are woven in any direction. Change the trajectory of the weave can be even in the process of work. Thanks to this, interesting patterns are easily created on the head.

Dreadlocks

It is believed that dreadlocks are a kind of African braids. In fact, their origin is of Indian origin and is associated with the name of the deity of Shiva. According to legend, the god Shiva wore such dreadlocks on his head. Later such a hairstyle of a deity was borrowed by Hindu hermits. Dreads were popular during the hippies, and in the heyday of Bob Marley's creativity, and today, especially among the stars of the world and domestic show business. Initially, the dreadlocks were positioned as male plaits, or rather one of their options, but eventually they began to braid and women.

Dreadlocks can not be weaved, but can be obtained in a natural way. To do this, it is enough to not comb your hair for 4-6 months. But there are also special ways to design this hairstyle.

How to weave dreadlocks

There are two ways of weaving dreadlocks. In the first case, male pigtails can be untwisted with the help of an ordinary knitting needle. Choosing the second method, be prepared for the fact that you will have to part with your hair, since it will not be possible to untangle such dreadlocks any more.

The "safe" dreadlocks come in the following sequence:

  1. The entire surface of the head is divided into squares.
  2. The hair is collected in small bundles.
  3. With the help of a small scallop, the hair ends from the tips of the hair to their roots.
  4. The hair that has gotten out of the comb is inserted into it by means of a crochet hook.

If your own hair length is not enough, a synthetic kanekalon is weaved into the strand.

Dreads that are not subject to unraveling are braided by a very strong brushing of the strand, which damages up to 25% of healthy hair.
