Mathematics in nature: examples

Sometimes it seems that our world is simple and understandable. In fact, this is a great mystery of the universe that created such a perfect planet. Or maybe it was created by someone who probably knows what he is doing? The greatest minds of our time are working on this question.

Each time they come to the conclusion that it is impossible to create all that we have, without the Supreme mind. What an unusual, complex and at the same time simple and direct our planet Earth! The surrounding world is amazing by its rules, forms, colors.

Nature laws

The first thing you can pay attention to our huge and amazing planet is the axial symmetry. It is found in all forms of the surrounding world, and is also the basic principle of beauty, ideality and proportionality. This is nothing more than mathematics in nature.

The concept of "symmetry" means harmony, correctness. This property of the surrounding reality, systematizing fragments and transforming them into a single whole. Even in ancient Greece, they began to notice for the first time the signs of this law. For example, Plato believed that beauty appears solely because of symmetry and proportionality. In fact, if we look at objects proportional, correct and complete, our internal state will be beautiful.

The laws of mathematics in living and inanimate nature

Let's take a look at any creature, for example, the most perfect person. We will see the structure of the body, which looks the same on both sides. You can also list a lot of samples, such as insects, animals, marine life, birds. Each species has its own color.

If there is any pattern or pattern, it is known to mirror the center line. All organisms are created thanks to the rules of the universe. Such mathematical patterns are also traced in inanimate nature.

If you pay attention to all phenomena such as tornado, rainbow, plants, snowflakes, you can find in them a lot in common. Relative to the axis of symmetry, the leaf of the tree is divided in half, and each part will be a reflection of the previous one.

Even if we take as an example a tornado that rises vertically and looks like a funnel, it can also be divided into two absolutely identical halves. You can meet the phenomenon of symmetry in the change of day and night, the seasons. The laws of the surrounding world are mathematics in nature, which has its perfect system. It is based on the whole concept of creating the universe.

Rainbow

We do not often think about the phenomena of nature. It was snowing or raining, the sun came out or a thunder struck - the usual state of changing weather. Consider a multi-colored arc, which can usually be found after precipitation. The rainbow in the sky is an amazing phenomenon of nature, accompanied by a spectrum of all colors visible only to the human eye. This happens due to the passage of sun rays through the outgoing cloud. Each rain serves as a prism that has optical properties. You can say that any drop is a small rainbow.

Passing through a water barrier, the rays change their original color. Every stream of light has a certain length and shade. Therefore, our eye perceives a rainbow of just such a multicolored one. Let us note an interesting fact that this phenomenon can only be viewed by a person. Because it's just an illusion.

Types of rainbow

  1. The rainbow, formed from the sun, occurs most often. It is the brightest of all species. It consists of seven primary colors: red orange, yellow, green, blue, blue, violet. But if you look at the details, the shades are much larger than our eyes can see.
  2. A rainbow created by the moon occurs in the dark. It is believed that it can always be seen. But, as practice shows, basically this phenomenon is observed only in rainy areas or near large waterfalls. The colors of the moonlit rainbow are very dim. They are destined to be considered only with the help of special equipment. But even with her, our eyes can only make out a strip of white.
  3. The rainbow, which appeared due to the fog, is like a broad, shining light arch. Sometimes this form is confused with the previous one. Above, the color can be orange, from the bottom - have a shade of purple. The sun's rays, passing through the fog, form a beautiful phenomenon of nature.
  4. A fiery rainbow in the sky is extremely rare. It is not similar to the previous species by its horizontal shape. It is possible to see this phenomenon only over the cirrus clouds. They, as a rule, extend at an altitude of 8-10 kilometers. The angle at which the rainbow will show itself in all its glory, should be more than 58 degrees. Colors usually remain the same as in a sunny rainbow.

The Golden Ratio (1,618)

Ideal proportionality is most often found in the animal world. They are awarded a proportion that is equal to the root of the ratio of the number of PHI to one. This ratio is the connecting factor of all animals on the planet. The great minds of antiquity called this number a divine proportion. It can also be called a golden section.

This rule completely corresponds to the harmony of the structure of man. For example, if you determine the distance between the eyes and the eyebrows, then it will be equal to the divine constant.

The golden section is an example of how important is mathematics in nature, the law of which began to be followed by designers, artists, architects, creators of beautiful and perfect things. They create with the help of the divine constant their creations, which have a balance, harmony and are pleasant to look at. Our mind is able to consider beautiful those things, objects, phenomena, where there is an unequal correlation of parts. Our brain calls the proportionality the golden ratio.

DNA Spiral

As the German scientist Hugo Weil rightly noted, the roots of symmetry came through mathematics. Many noted the perfection of geometric figures and paid attention to them. For example, bee honeycombs - this is nothing like a hexagon, created by nature itself. You can also pay attention to cones of spruce, which have a cylindrical shape. Also in the surrounding world spirals are often found: horns of large and small animals, shells of mollusks, DNA molecules.

The DNA spiral is created according to the principle of the golden section. It is the link between the scheme of the material body and its real image. And if you look at the brain, it is nothing more than a conductor between the body and the mind. Intellect connects life and the form of its manifestation and allows life, encased in form, to know itself. With the help of this mankind it is possible to understand the surrounding planet, to search in it for patterns that then apply to the study of the inner world.

Division in nature

Mitosis cells consists of four phases:

  • Prophase . It increases the core. There are chromosomes that begin to twist into a spiral and turn into their ordinary form. A place is formed for cell division. At the end of the phase, the core and its membrane dissolve, and the chromosomes flow into the cytoplasm. This is the longest stage of division.
  • Metaphase . Here, the spinning of the chromosomes ends, they form a metaphase plate. Chromatides are located opposite to each other, preparing for division. Between them there is a place for disconnection - the spindle. This concludes the second stage.

  • Anaphase . Chromatides diverge in opposite directions. Now in the cell there are two sets of chromosomes due to their division. This stage is very short.
  • The telophase . In each half of the cell a nucleus is formed, inside which the nucleolus forms. The cytoplasm actively disconnects. The spindle gradually disappears.

Meaning of mitosis

Due to the unique way of division, each cell following the reproduction has the same gene composition as its mother. The composition of chromosomes, both cells receive the same. Here there was a science like geometry. Progression in mitosis is important, because by this principle all cells multiply.

Where do mutations come from?

This process serves as a guarantee of a constant set of chromosomes and genetic materials in each cell. Due to mitosis, the organism develops, reproduces, regenerates. In the case of violation of cell division due to the action of some poisons, the chromosomes may not disperse in their halves, or they may have irregularities in the structure. This will become a clear indicator of the beginning mutations.

Summing up

What is common in mathematics and nature? On this question you will find the answer in our article. And if you dig deeper, then you need to say that through the study of the surrounding world, a person learns himself. Without the Supreme Intelligence, which gave birth to all life, there could be nothing. Nature is exclusively in harmony, in the strict sequence of its laws. Is it possible that all this without reason?

We quote the statement of the scientist, philosopher, mathematician and physicist Henri Poincaré, who, like no one else, will be able to answer the question of whether mathematics really are fundamental in nature. Some materialists may dislike such arguments, but they are unlikely to be able to refute them. Poincaré says that the harmony that the human mind wants to discover in nature can not exist outside of it. Objective reality, which is present in the minds of at least a few individuals, can be accessible to all mankind. The connection that brings together the thinking activity is called the harmony of the world. Recently, on the way to such a process, there have been tremendous advances, but they are very small. These links linking the universe and the individual must be valuable to any human mind that is sensitive to these processes.
