Longevity of the planet - who are they? List of the longest-living people on the planet

Long life has always attracted the attention of mankind. To recall at least attempts to create a philosopher's stone, one of the functions of which was to become immortality. Yes, and in modern times there are a lot of diets, recommendations about life and numerous pseudo secrets that supposedly allow a person to live more than their fellow tribesmen. However, it is not guaranteed to prolong the lifespan to anyone, that's why people are curious about those who did it all the same.

Define in terms of

First of all, we need to figure out who should be classified as "Long-Lives of the Planet". The most common definition is those whose century has passed in 90 years. In this case, these people are quite a lot. Only in Russia there are about 350 thousand. Some sources suggest that those who have already celebrated their 100th anniversary celebrate as long-livers. And this is also not a record - among the Russians there are almost seven thousand.

The second difficulty: who to believe and how to verify. Anyone can claim that he hit, say, 150, and do it pretty convincingly, if you know well the history of his native land. So the long-livers of the planet are conventionally divided into two groups: verified (that is, those whose age is documented) and presumptive - those that can not prove the exact date of birth.

And the third problem: choose a winner from those who are still alive, or consider all those who have crossed the 110-year mark? After all, many long-livers of the planet, whose list is not so short, yet managed to die.

Official record holder

The proven winner, who survived until 2012, was a Georgian Khvichava, who was a little under 133 years old. Documents confirming her birth in 1880, were recognized as genuine, so this oldest person (woman) was awarded a record in the Guinness Book of Records and received a certificate. It is noteworthy that Khvichava until the last day kept the liveliness of the mind. Despite the fact that all her work experience was connected with agriculture, she was invariably interested in cutting-edge innovations: shortly before her death, she wanted her relatives to teach her how to communicate with the computer. We can say that at the moment it is the oldest survivor of the planet. The record for the duration of earthly existence has not been beaten yet.

Second winner

And this is also a woman. She died before Khvichava, in 1997, but before that time confidently held the championship. This time the former oldest man was born in France, five years earlier than the Georgian, but, alas, died, nine years before reaching the next record. Her life was limited to 122 and a half years. The name of Jeanne Kalman in the list of "Long-livers of the planet" was noted also with an irrepressible sense of humor, demonstrated to the last day. In addition, the Frenchwoman was just a volcano of energy: she seriously started fencing at 85, she got carried away with a bicycle in 100, and almost professionally.

The most common age

In the summer of 2013, another of those who are called long-livers of the planet died. He lived to 115 years old, a Japanese from Kamiukawa named Jiroemon Kimura. The title of the winner was received in 2012 due to the fact that there are no older people who have proof of their age in the world. Recipes of centenarians, I must say, are diverse. If for Jeanne it was cheerfulness and activity, then for Kimura, first of all, a moderate and balanced diet.

By the way, the same record holder lived the same age (115) - Christian Mortensen, a Dane by birth and an American in allegiance. Its contribution to the recipes of long-livers is the absence of red meat, a large amount of fish, optimism, friends and singing.

115 years, apparently, the most popular age for long-lived. Puerto Rican Toro also held on to these years and was also among the record holders. But at the moment, no one has reached this milestone, so now Japanese Tomoji Tanabe, born in 1895, is considered the oldest. However, until the cherished date, he did not have much left.

general Statistics

Attention is drawn to the fact that women are more long-lived than men. So, in 2007, 84 people were officially registered in the world, who were 110 years old, and only nine of them were male.

Those who are more than 100, but less than 110 years in the world, almost two hundred thousand, and the sex ratio is again not in favor of men, although not so depressing.

A lot of long-livers are given by Japan and mountainous countries, including Abkhazia, Georgia, Circassia, Azerbaijan. In Karachaevsk even a club was created called "The Society of Centenary Anniversaries", which includes eight members, the youngest of whom are 104 years old. And in Japan those who are over 100, more than 28 thousand, and with each year this figure is growing.

Unofficial long-livers

However, until now we have listed those who, without any doubt, managed to prove their age. This list does not include other "most-most" - long-livers of the planet, who could not prove this for very objective reasons: wars, destroyed churches with records of newborns, small villages where there were no literate ... However, the probability of their age The real is very high. Therefore, it is worth mentioning the Hungarians Petridge and Zortay, who lived 186 and 185 years respectively, the Ossetian Tense Abzive, who held out to 180, Albanian Khandzher, who died at the age of 170 and Pakistani Sayyad Mabud, who only did not reach 160.

Absolute record

If you do not require the applicant for the title of absolutely accurate evidence, then definitely the oldest long-lived planet is already established. The record belongs to a Chinese named Li Ching-Yun, who died in 1933. He himself considered his birth year 1736, that is, at the time of his death he turned 197 years old. However, this age was refuted, and, oddly enough, in a big way. University professor Wu Changshin discovered the documents testifying to the birth of Lee in 1677. Moreover, there were preserved reliable, documented data about the congratulations of this man by the Chinese emperor, and they related to his jubilees in 150 and 200 years. Such a double confirmation requires a painstaking study, so that the title of Lee in the category "Long-Lives of the Planet" has not yet been proven, but also not refuted.

Mysterious country

However, this is not the only and not the biggest mystery regarding the life span of individual representatives of mankind. For decades, the mystery of the Indian Hunza tribe has been haunted by the scientists. Its members are not sick, do not suffer from tooth decay, have excellent eyesight and live for more than 110 years all by all. And this despite the fact that neighboring tribes have a complete set of all modern (and even forgotten by civilization) diseases, and the average elderly age does not even reach 60. The hunza has its own recipes of long-livers: meat only on holidays, vegetables are raw, and very a lot of fruits. The main thing in these principles of nutrition is not to deviate from them ever. Even in the spring, in the absence of fresh fruit, they do not shy away from the chosen path. Instead of breakfast-lunch-dinner in these difficult months hunza once a day drink a glass of juice from the fruit harvested last summer.

Perhaps, to the reasons of longevity and relative external youth of this people can be attributed and their habit of swimming in icy water, as well as extreme physical activity. As a result, a woman-hunza and a deep 60 give birth to a healthy viable offspring. And the researchers noted the high natural vitality of the Khunza, who attribute a considerable part of their longevity to it.

Scientists have not figured out why some people live longer than others. Applicable for all recipes of longevity does not exist: someone did not deny themselves bad habits, someone only ate fish or fruit, someone led an active life, and someone allowed himself to be lazy ... The only common feature of all long-livers is optimism And cheerfulness. Maybe this is the cherished philosophical stone?
