Lime tree: flowering and features of the melliferous tree

The flowering of lime begins when most fruit trees have already ended - in the middle or the end of June. Many are eagerly awaiting this event. Air during this period is filled with a unique fragrant fragrance. Lime, whose bloom is so short, is a valuable medicinal raw material. Her flowers can be stocked at this time for a whole year.

Lime tree: flowering and features of wood

The crown of the tree becomes a solid golden ball emanating honey aroma. Each inflorescence consists of 10-15 flowers. They have five petals and a lot of stamens. Flowering is so abundant that the branches bend under their weight. Lime heart-shaped, growing in most regions of Russia, has a spreading wide crown. Sometimes these trees grow apart, but more often - together with maple, oak and ash, as well as other types of trees. At first, the linden, whose flowering begins only between ten and twenty years, grows very slowly. The process is slightly accelerated if the tree is in an open area.

Lime: flowering and value as a honeycomb

It is estimated that a hectare of forest, consisting entirely of these middle-aged trees, can provide about two tons of sweet nectar in two weeks. For bees, this is a real paradise. Lime honey has a number of healing properties, for which it is highly valued. Scientists have noticed that lime trees in recent years have reduced the production of nectar. Fight this by landing a variety of varieties at a short distance from each other. Small-leafed and large-leafed (European, Manchurian and others) limes have different flowering times. Simultaneously, growing trees of different varieties on one plot, you can increase the amount of nectar that bees will collect. The time of flowering of large-leaved linden begins five or eight days earlier than the Amur and Manchurian. By collecting different varieties of these trees in one area, you can increase the period during which bees have the ability to collect nectar from them, from two weeks to four. Thus, apiaries, located near the falsified plantations, can be guaranteed annually with honey, even if one certain grade due to the temperature fluctuations in one year can not bloom and provide nectar.

Lime trees in towns and villages

Previously, this tree was loved for flowering, fragrance, frost and beauty. Nowadays, the linden planted in the cities helps to fight against gas pollution. Lush foliage absorbs dust and carbon dioxide. Hundreds of cubic meters of oxygen, which stands out with lime trees, enliven the city atmosphere. If you plant different types of limes in parks and gardens, then the different vegetation length will provide bright green for most of the year. After all, some of them start to dump leaves only at the end of October. The medicinal properties of lime color are widely known . But they will show up only if the raw materials are harvested in an environmentally clean area. Therefore, it is not recommended to collect lime flowers in cities and along the slopes.
