Levitan, "Forest Lake": a description of the picture. Quiet Homeland

This landscape is not considered the most outstanding works of the artist, such as "Birch Grove", "Above Eternal Peace", "Vladimirka", "After the rain. Plyos ". For some reason it was believed that in Russia there are no places worthy of being captured on the canvas. The nature is simple, not discreet, not at all like the bright landscapes of Italy or France. Not such was Levitan. He was not looking for special beauties. He wrote what is close to the heart and soul of a man who grew up in this environment, a loving village in the woods and copses, often walking along the bridges, logs, thrown over the stream. So, Levitan, "Forest Lake". The description of the painting will not convey the entire charm of the summer's outcome. To feel the pacification coming from it, you need to visit the Rostov Museum of Fine Arts or, at least, look at a good reproduction.

Landscape of Levitan

Early quiet autumn. Quiet, obscure lake in some wilderness. Not a breeze. The smooth, undistorted surface of the water, like a mirror, reflects the pale autumn sky and trees that stand impassable thickets along its banks. The ocher of birch trees is golden in the distance. The invisible sun shines on the right, and the lilac-gray shadows fall on the trees. They lighten to the left. The water reflects the jagged gold of the forest, and the green of the trunks of pine trees twinkling under the setting sun. So sees and writes Levitan "Forest Lake". The description of the picture is a pale copy of what the artist conveys.

The sun plays on pine trunks, and they sparkle festively. The complete peace and tranquility that the landscape causes in the painter is passed on to the viewer. Incredible master - Levitan. Forest lake (the description of the picture is good, but it is better to see it all) goes to an incredible distance, and where it ends and, perhaps, a stream, maybe a river, is unknown.

Peace of mind, an uncontrollable space - this is what breathes the whole forest landscape. But the most important thing is that he lives his life, which will remain with the viewer in the corner of his soul, when he will depart from the picture. If this happens, then the poet and psychologist looked into the soul and left a pure noble trail in it. For sure, with sadness about the passing summer wrote Levitan "Forest Lake".

Description of the picture: in the foreground the panoramic composition becomes more complicated. A high, curved edge appears in contrast with the smooth lines of the entire image. And from the height of the precipice, the artist, and after him the spectator, admires the beauty of a huge lake suddenly opening before him, retreating into the distance. Isaac Levitan, a forest lake, depicts as part of an unknown mysterious country that has been opened to a tired traveler. Light magically originates from the center of the composition, illuminating the gentle tones of the forest, jogging along the trunks of the pines.

Levitan - not only a brilliant draftsman, but also a colorist from God. But this could only be manifested through immense work, when, while still learning, he mastered all the shades of green, wrote out each leaf, studying its structure, every piece of bark that is visible on his sketches. For example, "The trunk of the old tree." These sketches speak of the relentless work of such a mature artist as I. I. Levitan. "Forest Lake," a description of which was given, speaks of the vigilance, attention and firmness of the young artist's hand.

Life of the artist

He was born in 1860 in the province of Kovno in Lithuania. When he was ten years old, the family moved to Moscow, where he lives very poorly. But a child at age 13 is given to study painting. Dies mother, then father. A Jewish boy studied at the Moscow School. Not everyone understood how it was a Jew, a poor and poor, sometimes without a piece of bread and shelter over his head, enthusiastically studying the Russian landscape. What can he understand in him? However, it is Levitan that will open the fascination of Russian nature to the whole world. When a young talent graduates from college, he is not awarded even a silver medal, but only allowed to work as a teacher of calligraphy.

After school

But it did not bend it and did not break it. A great influence was played by the friendship with the family of Chekhov, where he was both kindhearted and participated in rallies and jokes, to which was the great master Anton Pavlovich. His personal life did not work out, despite his undeniable beauty both in his youth and in his mature years. The only close soul was Chekhov's sister, Maria, with whom he corresponded. It is she who believes in letters her fear of death. Levitan caught cold on sketches on the Volga River and became sick with tuberculosis. He had to leave for treatment in the Crimea, but by 1900 he returned to Moscow. There he died and was buried in a small Jewish cemetery. Later his grave was transferred. MV Nesterov, who loved and appreciated him, even during the Great Patriotic War, being a very old and weak man, visited the grave of Levitan with flowers.

How to write an essay on Levitan's painting

First of all, it is necessary to find out when II was born and worked. Levitan, where he studied and with whom of our artists was friends, find out what his works are considered to be the most outstanding, for example, "Birch Grove". And what else did the artist write? Where did the forest lake find Levitan? The description of the picture for children must contain its own impressions of the contemplation of the landscape. Use epithets and definitions, conveying in words the palette of this landscape. Try to understand what mood the artist had in this deserted and uninhabited corner. Why he liked him. Tune in to this mood of the painter and try to express your impressions with the most accurate words. Perhaps it will be something like this. I. I. Levitan was born in Lithuania, but he lived his life in Russia, joined with her, felt her soul and managed to do what no Russian artist had done before him.

Levitan's painting

The painting "Forest Lake" depicts a quiet uninhabited corner of autumn nature. In the distance, a dense wall of golden birches and aspens, closer to the viewer, the pines of the pines are gleaming with sunlight . The silent surface of the magnificent lake mirrors the cloudless sky. The viewer is in the shade, on the precipice, from where he admires the huge lake suddenly opened before him. No sound anywhere. There is a ringing silence, which nowhere else can you hear. These are reserved, infinitely beautiful places with iridescent bluish shadows. This corner of the Motherland shows the artist to its viewers.
