KamAZ 54112: the general characteristic of the car

Engine

KamAZ 54112 was equipped with an eight-cylinder engine 7403.10-260, the cylinder block of which had a V-shape. The engine was atmospheric. Each of their cylinders of the power unit had two valves, one of which was responsible for air intake, and the second - for the release of combustion products formed from air and fuel. The diesel fuel was injected with a high-pressure pump, and mechanical type injectors were also used. The engine had a capacity of 210 horsepower, and its volume was 10.85 liters. The speed of the motor was 2600 rpm. The engine complied with the requirements of the international environmental standard "Euro-2".

General description of the machine

KamAZ 54112, the characteristics of which were advanced for the period of its production, had a semitrailer- type semi-automatic semitrailer with a pair of degrees of freedom, as well as a technically modified drive for the semitrailer brake system, which was performed on the basis of a combined scheme. The car was equipped with additional tanks for fuel and oil. Also designers have provided in the car the ten-step mechanical gear box with the raised reliability and a high safety factor of safety.

Cabin

The driver's cab is located above the engine. It has a sufficiently high roof and a large internal volume. The number of seats is three. The position of the chair is such that it will be convenient for a truck to be operated even for a very tall man. Noise isolation cabin is very acceptable, and the presence of a heater makes the stay in the car comfortable even in severe frost. In addition, comfort is provided by a special suspension with a hydraulic shock absorber.

Easy control of the car additionally guarantees the power steering, pneumatic control of the gearbox divider and the clutch actuator.

The number of stages in the transmission was increased thanks to the installation between the gearbox and the clutch of the special engine, which is to some extent analogous to the auxiliary two-stage box.

KamAZ 54112, the technical characteristics of which are given below, is equipped on the rear axle with a special balancing system and high-strength steel springs.

Up to a speed of 60 kilometers per hour KamAZ 54112 accelerates in less than a minute and a half, namely in 80 seconds. The car is able to easily overcome the rise of 18%. At a speed of 60 km / h the truck consumes about 34 liters of fuel per every 100 kilometers of travel.
