Ivan Tcherezov is the most experienced biathlonist in Russia

The future prize-winner of the Olympic Games and the world champion in biathlon Ivan Yuryevich Cherezov was born in the Udmurt Republic, in the city of Izhevsk, on November 18, 1980. In 2003, after the World Cup, Ivan Tcherezov strengthened his position in the first team. Ivan combines his hobbies with studies at the Nizhny Novgorod Law Academy, where he mastered the profession of a lawyer. Even managed to work for several years in the criminal investigation department.

The best Olympic athlete of 2006

From the president of the federation of football of the Republic and the president of Udmurtia in honor of this Ivan received keys from a two-room apartment. Further, Cherezov's sporting career developed rapidly, silver received at the Olympics in 2006 gave him motivation and strength, he moved up sharply from the 15th position to the 4th place in the overall World Cup standings.

The title of an experienced stable biathlete was associated with the name of Cherezov for his accurate shooting and good running speed. At the World Championships in 2009, held in Korea, Ivan Tcherezov outscored the legend of biathlon Ule-Einar Björndalen in the mass race and won the prize-winning third place. Among the Russian skiers, Ivan showed the best results for the World Cup. The season 2009/2010 brought the Russian not only bronze, but also a place in the top three overall.

Injury and return

In 2011, on September 22, on the summer biathlon, on the ill-fated Ufa Descent, the permanent leader and captain of the Russian national team fell and seriously injured. It was an unfortunate coincidence, Ivan Tcherezov slipped because of a stick that knocked down the biathlete's left leg, as a result of which he received a fracture. Season 2011/2012 athlete had to miss, at this time he successfully underwent surgery and underwent rehabilitation at a New York hospital.

Many have already managed to put an end to Cherezov's sports career, but he never for a moment forgot about biathlon and, as soon as the doctors allowed him, started training. After a while, the ski world of Ivan Tcherezov began to fill with new colors, though not so bright. In March 2012 in Altenberg, at the IBU Cup, the athlete takes the 5th place in the pursuit race. However, Ivan was not declared in the national team for the 2014/2015 season. Lopukhov, the head coach of the national team, without a doubt, struck out Cherezov from the list, giving a chance to the other six young athletes, and he is included in the veteran group.

Completion of career

Russian biathlonist March 20, 2016 at a farewell press conference announced his retirement from the sport. The meeting was held in Khanty-Mansiysk, where in 2003 the first World Championship took place, in which Tcherezov took part. As Ivan Tcherezov says, biathlon brought him 90% of the goals.

Udmurt athlete perfectly passed the World Cup stages, in personal races he won 7 times, 20 times on the catwalks, 23 times on the podium in the relay disciplines. For five years after the ill-fated fall, Ivan persistently tried to reach the world level again, but to no avail. Because of the injury, the big sport had to be left forever.
