Is childbirth after the spiral possible?

The IUD or intrauterine device in the form of a spiral is, as many women know, a method of protection (contraception). When creating spirals, various additives of copper, gold or silver are used. Copper ions can have a harmful effect on spermatozoa penetrating the uterus, and silver and gold supplements exist in spirals intended for women whose body does not tolerate the appearance of any elements of copper.

As a rule, to introduce a spiral into the uterus can only give birth to a woman or a woman who has made an abortion. This is certainly one of the best methods of contraception, but in most cases, some time after the birth of the first-born couple begins to plan a second child, and the spiral must be removed. This is where many problems and questions arise about when to get pregnant after a spiral.

To begin with, the spiral can be removed by a gynecologist according to the instructions, i.e. After a certain period of its use or prematurely, with complications, severe inflammatory processes, menstruation disorders or exacerbation of diseases. And if you decide to conceive a child, you need to turn to a gynecologist several months before the conception itself. Pregnancy after the removal of the spiral is possible, but often not everything is so simple.

After removal of the spiral by a gynecologist, only 30% of women can become pregnant in a month, 60% - in 3 months and 90% try to conceive a child within a year. In most cases, doctors advise to try only after 4 months after removal, because the uterus should completely restore the mucosa. Therefore, with certainty it can be reported that childbirth after the spiral is possible, but it is necessary first to undergo a complete examination and consult with a doctor.

Each organism is individual, so many women can get pregnant again in 4-5 months, and others do not give up hope in a year or two. To ensure that in the future there are no problems and questions, whether childbirth is possible after the spiral, before its introduction it is necessary to undergo examination and consult. If initially your body resisted a foreign body, choose a better method of contraception, until this option did you significant harm.

If you decide that the spiral is the best method, then every woman needs to remember about some signs, at the appearance of which one should immediately turn to the gynecologist:

-if you notice a delay in menstruation, if there are any signs of pregnancy: vomiting, frequent nausea, etc .;

-if you often feel unpleasant pains or rubs in the lower abdomen, if you notice that the vaginal discharge has become abundant;

-if you want to involve more than one partner in your sexual life;

-If there have been any failures, or at the next check you could not find a certain tip of plastic, etc.

Gynecologists recommend that women use a spiral up to 35 years, and after this age period use exclusively hormonal contraceptives that can keep the ovarian follicles functionally active.

If during the use of the spiral you did not have any significant complications, you can say that the birth after the spiral is more than possible. The most important thing is a systematic visit to a doctor who will inform you about any changes. Advantages for this type of contraception is enough, but, nevertheless, it is necessary to remember and the shortcomings that can adversely affect the body, which in the future will affect your female health and the ability to have children.

Practically every woman has the opportunity to become pregnant after removing the spiral, but it is advisable to watch the entire period with the doctor, because any unwanted inflammation or infection in the uterus can ruin your plans for the future. For more information on whether the spiral is possible after birth, you can contact your gynecologist.
