Internal communication error in "Opera": cause and elimination

Quite often, many users of the World Wide Web, when using a browser for surfing the Internet, face the problem of communication failure. And the "Opera" is no exception. Sometimes such a failure is manifested as an SSL error. In the "Opera" it is easy to eliminate it, if you know the source of its appearance. We give several possible causes of the error and the simplest methods of combating it.

Internal communication error in the "Opera": the nature of the failure

If we consider the root causes of this type of error, we first need to find out what it is. As a rule, this failure in general terms is a notification of the security system, although this is not always the case.

The SSL protocol is essentially very similar to HTTPS and is a secure connection system when the data sent and received by the user terminal is encrypted. In this case, SSL technology uses a special system of certificates provided by Internet resources that confirm the security of a site.

When a user receives a message stating that there was a certificate error in the "Opera" when trying to connect to the site, you do not need to hurry with the forced transition to the site. This in many cases can be quite unsafe.

On the other hand, this is by no means the only situation when such a failure can occur. Consider the possible causes of the error and immediately indicate the method of its elimination, based on each individual case (the moments with the loss of communication through the fault of the provider will not be considered now, since the user here is powerless).

Viral infection

A very common situation, when there is an internal communication error in the "Opera", you can call the usual penetration into the system of viruses, malicious codes or applets. They can partially block the connection, and also set their own redirection (redirection) to other, mostly unsafe sites. So just pay attention to the address bar. As a rule, instead of the entered query there will be indicated a completely different address.

In this case, it is strongly recommended not to use the installed regular antivirus for searching and eliminating the threat. It's better to take some portable utility or boot up before starting the system from a disk like Kaspersky Rescue Disk. By the way, the second option is preferable, since modern viruses are able to settle in both RAM and boot sectors of disks and logical partitions.

Firewall and antivirus settings

No less common is the so-called authentication error in the "Opera". In most cases, its appearance is due solely to the prohibitions set in the settings and settings of anti-virus scanners and Windows Firewall.

Fighting this is easy. There are two options: to make the necessary site in the list of antivirus exceptions or to do the same, but for the browser, in the firewall settings. In principle, a firewall can be disabled at all, but only if the terminal has an official licensed version of the antivirus product, which monitors the prevention of external threats from the outside in real time.

Incorrect date and time

An internal communication error in the "Opera" can also occur due to an incorrectly set date and time, although this is an indirect reason. The essence of understanding is that, for example, the date is set for several years ahead. If the certificate of the site has expired during a given period of time, naturally, the browser sees it as overdue. The same applies to setting the date a few years ago. Here the reverse situation is obtained: the certificate has not yet come into effect and is not recognized as genuine.

You can exit the situation by setting the correct date and time in the system settings. But this does not always help, so you'll have to refer to the system date and time parameters that are in the BIOS.

Changing SSL settings in the browser

Another reason when an internal communication error occurs in the "Opera" is the incorrect configuration of the main parameters of the browser itself, in particular, the support of the SSL protocol.

Then you need to enter the main menu of the browser, then go to the advanced settings and select the security tab. In this menu there is a special button for entering the section of security certificates, where in the appeared window you should check the box "SSL". After performing this procedure, changes are confirmed by clicking the "OK" button and restarting the browser.

As for the moments when there is a plug-in error in the Opera (it does not matter which one), most likely, it is due only to the fact that the plug-in is either disabled or needs to be updated (updates notifications can sometimes be disabled, especially if optimizers are used, Working in Live mode). As you already know, you just need to update the required add-on or add-on, for example, download the same Flash Player from the official Adobe site, and then install it into the system, having previously closed the Opera.

Quite probably, the browser has the AdBlock plugin installed, which sometimes can also block the content of the sites (most often pop-ups). If desired, you can turn it off in the add-on settings.

Certificate error in "Opera": manual installation of the certificate on the example of Kaspersky Lab software

There is another interesting way to fix problems. Consider it for those systems in which the official Kaspersky Lab anti-virus is installed. In principle, similar actions can be applied to any other scanner, the differences will be only in the names of the menus and their location.

So, to begin with, in the antivirus itself we go to the settings, and in the additional section selects the network. When the certificate verification string is activated, a button for installing the certificate will be active from the bottom. Click on it and get into the new menu with the button for installing the certificate manually. After clicking, you need to save the certificate file in a convenient place, for example, on the "Desktop".

Now go to the settings of "Opera" and use the combination Ctrl + F12, go to the advanced settings section, and then to the security category. Here we are interested in the publishers' tab. Click the import button on the right and specify the path to the certificate file (in our example saved on the "Desktop"). Next, click the install button, save the changes and restart the browser.

Conclusion

As we see nothing complicated. But these are only general and, so to speak, the most common reasons for the appearance of errors of this kind. Before deciding on the application of an action, you should clearly understand the situation.
