I'm a free lady, Kikimora Swamp! Green, cold Kikimora Swamp!

Not only in Slavic mythology, the swamp is associated with a dirty, impure, bad place. Since ancient times, the marsh scares not only the night glow, the lights of which are called the "candles of the deceased", but also sharp sounds, loud smackings, sighs. It seems that the quagmire is only waiting for self-assured, carefree travelers to lure and destroy the unfortunate, very often to the belated death of belated travelers lure the marsh fox who loudly calls for help.

A spooky monster or an unfortunate virgin?

Most legends describe kikimoru as a horrible creature, almost a monster, from head to toe, wrapped in ripeness from algae and moss. You can see it very rarely, but almost everybody can hear it. But everyone who hears her lingering call is doomed to a painful terrible death in the quagmire. After all, a person who has been kicked into a swamp, feels a terrible dizziness, his limbs seem to paralyze. And no matter whether he tries to run in a panic or stands silent, the fate of it is predetermined. Also, the marshmallow was more than once seen in the theft of children of villagers who were left unattended. But there is another way, if the marshy quicksilver is a maiden drowned in a quagmire of the swamp, it looks pretty attractive. Green-eyed, dark-haired, with sensual lips, a pretty sexy beauty is quite able to entice a berry or mushroom picker not only with pleas for help, but also attractive appearance. Especially since her slender mill is partially hidden by the mud, and her head is decorated with a wreath of marsh flowers. There is also a third version of the appearance of a mysterious creature, according to which a marshy moth is a girl cursed by her mother in the womb. If a girl died as a baby before being baptized or was born from a fiery serpent tempter, then she too is a direct road to kikimoras. After the girl grows up, she is married to a brownie or a devil. That kykimora, who married a brownie, is naughty with the hubby in the house, and the one who made the alliance with the woodchuck is called the marsh kakimora and lives in the swamp.

The folkloric character goes to the masses

Based on many Slavic beliefs and traditions, tales, legends, cartoons and even songs are born. Just recently, the famous Russian pop singer, actress Lolita Milyavskaya performed the musical composition "Kikimora Swamp", the song turned out to be touching, paying attention to the heavy female share of kikimora, which alone spends its days and nights, urgently demands to provide her husband. It's funny, especially in the extravagant manner of Lolita's eccentric performance. The most famous cartoon, in which the main character is a swamp kakimora, is the creation of the Soyuzmultfilm studio - the animated tape Glasha and Kikimora, released in 1992. A beautiful multi-faceted character - a marsh kakimora, a cartoon with her in the title role will always be interesting and entertaining.

Unbelievable but true

Shishimora, kikimora, shishig - all these are the names of the ancient spirit, fairy-tale character, mythological creature. However, the recently published fact makes one think about even the most skeptical skeptic. In the Urals, the man who returned from the hunt brought his prey. She turned out to be a green monster, all covered with mud, surprisingly similar to the prehistoric creature of the ichthyosteg. Although scientists claim that these animals lived about 300 million years ago and were a transitional form of life from aquatic living organisms to terrestrial ones. Perhaps under the guise of a kikimora, a surviving specimen of a prehistoric animal hid in an inexplicable and incomprehensible way ?
