Human rights are economic and political. Socio-economic rights and freedoms of man and citizen

There are various human rights: economic, social, political and so on. All of them were created in order to regulate the relationships of people within the society and simultaneously create the best conditions for the development and self-realization of each individual. Of course, in this case, do not forget that the rights come and responsibilities. Therefore, it is necessary to treat them carefully and adhere to them. And now let's start to consider human rights economic, social and political.

Legislative regulation

Where is there evidence of human rights and freedoms? The most important document is the Constitution. This applies to any state with strong people's institutions (civil society, election system and so on). Then there is the prescription of certain provisions and interpretations in various codes, laws, regulations and other legal forms.

Economic rights of man and citizen

Let's start with the closest thing to us in everyday life - from the economy. So, human rights are affecting economic spheres such as production, distribution and exchange of material goods. Each individual can freely use his abilities and property to carry out entrepreneurial (or other, not forbidden, economic) activities. At the same time, the right of private property is protected by law, and a person can not be deprived of what is acquired otherwise than according to a court decision. It should also be noted that each individual can choose for himself a kind of activity, profession. At the same time, any discrimination in payment is prohibited. If we consider the special case of the Russian Federation, it should be noted that a citizen of a country has the right to participate in the creation of economic benefits. This means the possibility of working and getting paid, resting, striking, doing business and possessing private property. We also have the opportunity to use natural and other objects of public property. As you can see, although human rights are economic and do not bring everything on a silver platter, they still give good opportunities for work.

Political freedoms

Their peculiarity is that they are closely related to the citizenship of the individual. Also, in modern realities, political and economic human rights are often intertwined. So, according to the legislation everyone has the right to create associations on the basis of concrete reasons (the same ideology, professional societies and so on). In addition, every citizen has the right to participate in the administration of the state through his representatives or personally. We can elect and be elected to the local and state authorities. In addition, citizens are entitled to participate in marches, rallies and demonstrations. Political freedoms are important from the point of view that they allow all people who live under the control of a particular state to take part in the life of society and the country. The most important here is the introduction of proposals on the work of bodies and criticism of all the shortcomings and shortcomings of their activities.

Socio-economic rights of man and citizen

This is the youngest group of freedoms. It began to form in the late nineteenth century and was fully developed already in the twentieth century. So, it was accepted that everyone should be guaranteed the right to social security when they reach a certain age, in case of illness, disability, loss of breadwinner, raising children, and so on. In addition, considerable attention was paid to the right to education. The next stage was the provision of health protection and medical care, an environmentally friendly environment and compensation for damage, if that is not possible. This socio-economic rights and freedoms of man do not end there. Particular attention was paid to motherhood and childhood. The legislative documents of many countries provide for special assistance and care. Also, the state protects the family. It should be remembered that social rights mean the possibility of a person as a citizen to be provided with the necessary living conditions, so that he has the opportunity to take part in the life of society and use the available goods. Of the most important elements, the following should be emphasized:

  • health protection;
  • Safe for health and life leisure;
  • social protection;
  • A high standard of living, both of an individual and of the whole family;
  • The opportunity to voluntarily agree (or not) on marriage;
  • Protection of paternity and motherhood.

And this is not all the socio-economic rights of man that exist.

Generations of human rights

There are several approaches for classifying the freedoms that an individual has. Within the framework of this article, a rather interesting concept of "generations" of human rights will be considered. The division here takes place according to the time of their formation:

  1. First generation. This includes personal, as well as political rights, which were proclaimed the Great French Revolution.
  2. The second generation. Cultural and socio-economic rights, which arose as a result of people's struggle to improve their situation.
  3. Third generation. This includes collective rights, such as peace, disarmament, a healthy environment, development, and so on. But this point is very controversial, and now there is no single point of view relative to it.

Personal freedoms

Alternatively, they are also called civil rights. Most of them are from a person already from the moment of his birth, they are forbidden to take away or somehow limit. Personal freedoms serve to ensure the self-realization of the individual as an independent member of society and legally protect him from any unlawful interference. An example is the right to life, respect for dignity and honor, personal inviolability, movement, and so on.

Economic and social freedoms

Their main goal is the deliverance of man from want and fear. Through them, a search is made for compromise solutions between the employer and the employee, the entrepreneur and the state, and so on. And theoretically they take such a form to help each person become a useful participant in the global social process.

Conclusion

It should be noted that the freedoms of the first and second generations (or civil and economic) are fundamentally different. So, observance of political rights should not depend on a level of economic development of the country. The main thing for ensuring civil liberties is the government's will. Their peculiarity is that political rights can be demanded here and now. With socio-economic freedoms, the opposite is true. Their compliance directly depends on the existing situation in the country, the purchasing power of the average person and a large number of other factors. So, if the economy is underdeveloped, then the fulfillment of obligations by the state will be carried out with difficulty. This type of rights is always implemented in a progressive manner, as the country develops and its economic life.
