How to properly make a foundation, or a little about reinforcing the foundation of the house

Nobody will be able to build a really high-quality and reliable house if this house does not have an equally reliable foundation. Thinking about how to properly make a foundation, do not forget about its reinforcement, which is used when it is necessary to ensure the maximum reliability and durability of the home. Let's consider how to conduct reinforcement, which increases the "survivability" of the finished structure.

In most cases, the technology of transverse laying is used. First, first strengthen the foundation pillow. Of course, before properly making the foundation of the house, you should determine the very feasibility of its construction. Reinforcement is good in that it allows almost completely to level out even the minimal probability of its transverse deflection, the danger of which is constantly present on soils potentially inclined to whipping. Taking into account the fact that there is no strength to break the concrete, if it is necessary to erect a construction on the soils of the heaving type, it is absolutely vital to carry out this operation.

Among other things, there is a technology of longitudinal laying. It should be noted that it is used before making the right foundation on unstable soils, and also when building on dissimilar soils, which in the future will necessarily sink. In this case, it is ideal to use reinforcing meshes. Please note that for a high-quality filling of the base or a cushion, it is necessary to use a grid with a cross-section of the wire used of at least 12 mm.

What are the rules for carrying out this process? Of course, you must strictly follow the generally accepted rules for working with concrete and structures from it. But a special role in this case belongs to precise and correct calculations.

Take, for example, the transverse type of reinforcement. Before correctly making the foundation, you take a grid with a section of 12 mm and a diameter of 200 mm. The diameter of the grid should be taken the smaller the greater the probability of deflection of the front part of the cushion as a result of physical deformation of the unstable ground. In many ways, this depends on the characteristics of the building material you use. For example, in the case of construction of reinforced concrete slabs or bricks, the expansion prism must be reinforced with additional mesh layers or reinforcement rods. Since it is difficult to make a foundation for laymen in this option, do not neglect the help of qualified construction companies.

Unfortunately, even in the central regions of the pillow, the probability of deflection is far from zero. As we have already said, most often this happens because of the unevenness of soil characteristics on a particular plot. The consequences are catastrophic.

If it turns out that only the armature (grid especially) is not capable of resisting the deflection, look for ways to strengthen the base itself by thickening it.
