How to insert and delete rows in Excel?

  • Use the context menu. It is necessary to allocate a specific place where the line will be located, and then click the right button of the mouse to bring up the menu. After selecting "Paste", "String" appears. You need to confirm the action by clicking "OK".
  • Via the control panel. You must select a location for the row and on the control panel find the "Home" tab, click "Paste", and then "Insert row".

Deleting rows is done in a similar way, but instead of the "Paste" item, click on "Delete".

Row height in Excel

This parameter is adjustable in several ways. The most convenient and simple is to change the height with the mouse. The cursor should be placed on the line numbering, and then, while holding down the button, stretch or compress it to the desired size.

You can also change the height using the control panel. In the "Home" tab, select "Format", and then click "Line Height". In the opened window you need to set the value that is required in a particular case.

Both versions of the program assume automatic selection of line height. This is necessary in the case when you need to change the parameters in accordance with the text that is there. However, when using this function, you need to know that the command will be executed only when the "Wrap by words" checkbox is checked in the "Align" tab. The maximum height that can be set is 409 values.

Grouping rows in Excel

If you want to group the rows, you need to select them and go to the "Data" tab. There you need to select "Structure" - "Group".

The ungrouping of rows is done by analogy, just click "Ungroup".

The easiest way to move a string to Excel is to move it with the mouse. You need to move the cursor to the selected cell and, without releasing the left key, drag the selected area to a new location. You can enable this function in the "Options" - "Advanced".
