Distance learning in the university in our time is increasingly seen as a serious alternative to traditional methods of education. Justifying the potential of quality education through distance forms, educators pay attention to the fact that it is possible only if the information and communication technologies are used continuously. However, in the overwhelming majority of cases, distance learning is still, like 10 years ago, much inferior to the traditional in terms of the actual quality of the result of training in the university professional professionals. What needs to be changed in distance higher education to improve its quality?

Each institute, university or academy, if possible, should acquire its own electronic library, posted on the official website of the university. In this library there should be all the educational, as well as other literature, which the student will need for full-fledged education. This is necessary so that the student does not run around the libraries in search of the right book, and even more so did not go specially to her to a university that can be very far from home. Of course, free access to the resources of the university library and partner libraries should be provided for students free of charge. Access, among other things, implies the convenience of using, finding the right books, etc.

It is necessary to organize short-term training courses for teachers who do not have a good knowledge of information and communication educational technologies. At the same time, of course, such courses should be conducted at the expense of the institution where the teacher works.

Of course, the number of first-aid actions is the equipping of classrooms with modern computer equipment. Otherwise, there is nothing to say about modern distance learning, because the organization of direct, live communication in real time is one of the most important requirements and the educational process organized remotely.

It is necessary to provide all universities with normal communication, connect them to high-quality, high-speed Internet. Particular attention should be paid to those educational institutions that are located on the periphery. Alas, often small universities or branches operating in remote parts of Russia technologically can not provide a good communication between the student and the teacher for distance learning. And if this does not happen, then all the items listed above will become simply irrelevant.

Finally, it is necessary to provide talented young people from remote areas of the country, low-income, and suffering from various diseases, equipment necessary for distance learning, under special state programs.
