How to give photos the effect of "crumpled paper"
Paper is one of the most recognizable materials. That's why it is used to create various textures in Photoshop. This article will be devoted to such an effect as "crumpled paper". This texture is created quite simply, and how to achieve it, we will consider further.
So, before us is a clean virtual sheet, on which we now create the "crumpled paper" effect in a matter of minutes. To do this, select a tool called "Gradient", and in the upper horizontal panel do some adjustments, namely:
1) choose the black and white gradient type;
2) the gradient style is set to linear;
3) in the blending mode, select "Difference";
4) the opacity should be equal to one hundred percent.
The settings are done. Now proceed directly to the process of creating a texture of "crumpled paper." To do this, we begin to create a gradient fill at different angles. We do it many times, changing at the same time in arbitrary order the angles of the inclination of the fill and the width of the transition. As a result, you should get an image from the gradients that intersect in chaotic order. In places where they intersect, there will be bruising, so it is desirable to achieve a pattern in which most gradient transitions converge at one point.
Now we need to transfer the resulting texture to that image, which we want to give the effect of "crumpled paper". To do this, you need to use the cursor (arrow) to grab the texture and carry out the transfer. You can see that the texture completely covered the picture, so the next step will be "hike" in the layers palette. There, at the very top, there is a drop-down line in which you need to click on the blending type called "Linear light". After clicking the texture blends with the image, you will get the coveted crumpled photo.
