Going abroad, it is worth not forgetting about the timely filing of an application for the Schengen. In particular, this applies mainly to European countries. For example, you need a visa to the Netherlands. And it can be issued either in a specialized Visa Center under the Russian Federation, in the embassy or in the consulate general. How it's done? How does it all begin? And how long does the registration last?
Important points when obtaining a visa
Before taking any steps before applying for a visa, you should determine the purpose of the visit. This must be done in order to correctly choose the category of your visa. For example, it could be tourism, visiting friends, acquaintances and relatives, transporting goods, preparing journalistic reports, buying real estate or cars, and much more. For this, we will discuss in more detail the types of visas. What are they like?
Categories of visas: what, how and why
So, you need a visa to the Netherlands. And it can be short-term and belong to the category "C", or national, with the corresponding category "D". In the first case, such a visa will suit you, if for the purposes of your visit you can include a tourist trip, a trip to friends or relatives or conduct business negotiations.
When registering a category "C" visa, it is worth considering that its receipt obliges you to comply with certain rules. In particular, it is allowed to stay in the Netherlands for no more than 90 days for six months.
If you are interested in a Schengen visa in the Netherlands category "D", therefore, you plan to arrive in the country for over 90 days in the half year. For example, students are applying for a visa of this category and people going to the Netherlands for work.
What documents are needed for the visa "C" (purpose: tourist trip)?
To get a category "C" visa, where the purpose of your visit is tourism, you need to write an application in one of the visa centers or the official representation of the Netherlands in the Russian Federation.
Further obtaining a visa (the Netherlands is one of the countries entering the Schengen zone) provides for the provision of the original of your passport. And he, first, should not be delayed, and, secondly, must contain blank pages for the subsequent pasting of visas into them. It is also necessary to provide an old passport, but only if there were previously notes on the visit of the Schengen countries. And this is only the beginning.
Next you need to fill out a special form - a questionnaire. And it needs to be done in English (for leaving to the Netherlands), German or another language, which is compulsory for a particular country. In this case, the form of the questionnaire can either be downloaded via the Internet, or obtained on a personal visit to the Visa Center.
The third important point: a visa to the Netherlands is issued with two color photos measuring 3.5x4.5 cm, made on a light, for example, white or beige background. However, these photographs should not include corners, ovals and frames, as well as additional accessories (glasses, hats or scarves).
Ideally, one of your photos is stuck on the completed questionnaire, and the second one is pinned on top (using a staple, using a stapler in this case is unacceptable).

If it is supposed to fly within one day without leaving the airport zone, then this is called visa-free transit (that is, there is no need to open a visa of the Netherlands or any other transit country of the Schengen for such a flight).
To open a transit visa through the Embassy of the Netherlands in Moscow, you should do the following:
- To confirm (documented) the reservation in the country of transit and throughout the rest of the stay;
