How to draw a dog in stages: a master class

The ability to draw can develop in themselves every person. There are special training master classes. From them you can learn, for example, how to draw a dog in stages. Carefully reviewing the pictures made in stages, you should repeat the action - in the master class, each new stroke is colored red.

Master-class "How to draw a dog in stages"

  1. First, an auxiliary construction is applied to the paper, which is based on geometric figures. This in our case will be two approximately the same diameter of the circle and one larger oval. To arrange them you need this way: the oval in the middle - it is like a vertex of the obtuse angle in the triangle, circles on other vertices - this will be the head and the back of the trunk. Mentally conducted straight from the oval and to the back of the trunk should not be parallel to the ground, since the dog's hind legs are shorter than the forelegs, so this part of the body is located slightly lower. In addition, all the figures of the additional construction should not touch, and between the circle-head and the oval-body distance should be slightly larger than between the circle-back and the oval.
  2. Since it is difficult to draw a dog step by step without additional hints, the eraser is always useful. Apply the image with a simple pencil and light movements. The second stage is the connection of all additional figures of the general smooth curve.
  3. Quite a difficult stage - drawing a dog's muzzle, open mouth and ears. Since it is necessary to draw a dog-sheep dog in stages in the most similar way, it should be noted that the muzzle of this breed is elongated, straight; She has a rather large forehead, but not bulging. Also, the dog has a small bridge of the nose - a forehead crossing into the muzzle. Next, it should be noted that from the extreme point of the muzzle - the "leather nose" - the line of the pattern goes down at an acute angle of about 60 degrees.
  4. The neck line should be smoothly continued downward, changing the direction - these will be the front paws, therefore it is necessary to perform two lines, close to the perpendiculars with respect to the ground. The upper line should also be extended smoothly downwards - this will be a "marking" of the tail.
  5. Since it is impossible to draw a dog step by step without knowing the biological structure of this animal, you should carefully consider the pictures and photos of the dog, as well as familiarize yourself with the structure of its skeleton. If you look carefully, the artist will pay attention to the fact that the front paws have an interesting structure: the elbow is at the very top of the paw and is practically pressed against the body, followed by the forearm, which at the very bottom passes into the wrist - the tapering part, and then the fingers - a pastern - on which the dog walks. Pastern slightly shifted forward relative to the forearm. At the same stage, it is necessary to apply auxiliary guiding lines for drawing hind paws, and on the oval below - to draw out a slightly protruding rib cage and a hollow belly.
  6. The rear paws of the sheepdog also have an interesting structure. The dog comes on fingers - a pastern. Next is a plus, which is depicted under a slight bias in the direction opposite to the front paws. At the middle of the length of the hind leg, the dog has a projection of the hock joint, which corresponds to the heel of the person in the skeleton. If you place a dot under the tail of the dog's figure and construct a rectangular triangle, the second vertex of which is the angle of the hock, the vertex of the right angle will just designate the femoral joint, which extends roundly on the hindlimb to the side of the abdominal wall.
  7. Since we have already managed to draw the dog in pencil step by step, we have only to remove the extra lines from the eraser, to outline the contours of the sheep-dog more clearly and to paint the shadows with strokes.
