How to determine the declension of nouns in Russian

A deviation is a change in nouns with cases and numbers. What were they installed for? How to determine the declension of nouns? This article will tell you about this.

Why do we need declensions?

If all the scientific works concerning the Russian language are combined in one single collection, then a multivolume edition will be obtained. So, maybe, it is not necessary to overload linguistics with superfluous concepts? Therefore, before you answer the question of how to determine the declension of nouns, you need to understand what its essence and meaning are. It is this category that makes it possible to understand what kind of ending it is necessary to put in a word when changing cases. And if it is easy for adults to determine this, then children often find it difficult to resolve this issue.

For this, there are separate signs. The table below will help determine the declination. It contains the distinctive characteristics of each of the three kinds of nouns.

Are there any exceptions?

The division of all nouns by declension is a fairly reasonable theory. But is everything so smooth? Often the question arises as to how to determine the declension of nouns that end in -a. And what to do with the word-exception "way"? Now we'll figure it out. There is such a thing as a different noun. Such a name they received due to the fact that it is impossible due to their specificity to apply the general rules. If these nouns are put in any cases, it can be seen that in some cases they acquire the endings of different declensions. We denote all such cases. For example, nouns that end in nouns (flame, burden, udder, time, name, banner, tribe, stirrup, seed and crown) are included in the verse, and the words "path" and "child" are included. In addition to them, in Russian there are also words that do not have either the plural or the ability to change. Such expressions are called indeclinable. Most of them are words borrowed from other languages. Looking at the table below, you can easily understand this issue.
