How to choose the right wireless stereo headphone

People hate wires. It's no wonder that wireless stereo-headphones appeared after the wireless keyboard and mouse (headphones are the most popular accessory for smartphones in the world). Now it is possible to forget about these uncomfortable wires, which are so striving to get confused in your pocket in the most incomprehensible way: the market is no longer lacking in models of such miracle headphones, and everyone will be able to select the ones necessary, in accordance with the requirements and the price.

But in order to accurately not make a mistake in the choice of wireless headphones should be something to learn.

What are wireless stereo headphones?

First of all, one must understand that the headphones intended for the TV are very different from the headphones for listening to music through the mobile device and from the headsets for telephone conversations. Therefore, before buying wireless headphones, make sure that they work well with the device for which you are going to purchase them.

Wireless headphones come in three types:

  1. Radio headphones DECT. They use wireless data transmission, implemented with the help of DECT technology. Digital Advanced Portable Telecommunications (DECT) is one of the most common standards. Approximately the same technology is used in stationary wireless phones. They are distinguished by a long range of operation.
  2. Stereo headphones Bluetooth. In them, wireless data transmission takes place through the use of Buetooth technology. This is the most widely used form of transmission.
  3. Infrared headphones. Everyone has or has ever had a TV with a remote control. Here this panel operates with the help of infrared radiation, and wireless infrared headphones are designed on the same principle. They, perhaps, transmit the best quality sound, but it is not easy to find them. They work, however, only in the direct line of sight of the equipment, that is, radiation can be stymied by foreign objects.

Characteristics of wireless headphones

  • Sound quality: now the best wireless headphones deliver sound with almost the same quality that good wire models can boast. The price of such headphones, of course, rather big. The sound quality of the average Bluetooth headphones leaves much to be desired, but at the same time, if you are not a fastidious music lover, it will seem pretty clean and pleasant to you.
  • Range: there are wireless headphone models, in which you do not need to be very close to the source of sound. That is, you can move around the house, for example, go to the kitchen, and communication with the TV or computer will not be lost. On the other hand, walls and closed doors somehow reduce the range and quality of transmission.
  • Battery life: Some wireless headphones last up to eight hours of operation without recharging, while others - only a couple of hours. Also there are models that work from finger batteries (some prefer this option).
  • The quality of voice calls: when it comes to head sets, it is first of all important to hear the interlocutor well, and that he can hear you well. In other words, in the first place is the quality of the voice call. Not all wireless Bluetooth stereo headphones with a microphone are suitable for frequent calls, many emphasize the quality of music playback.

How to choose the right wireless headphones?

What is guided by the choice? As already mentioned above, before you buy wireless stereo headphones, you need to make sure that they will approach the device with which you are going to use them. And also decide for what purposes they are needed (for example, to listen to music during training, in public transport, etc.).

For a TV, both Bluetooth and radio headphones are equally suitable, and since there are almost no differences in the quality of stereo audio transmission between these two types of headphones, it's worth starting from the price. Of course, the TV model is important, because not all support the "bluetooth" transfer, and to obsolete models, as a rule, no wireless headphones are not connected.

For mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) only wireless Bluetooth stereo headphones are suitable. They are no longer as expensive as they used to be: almost every day new models come out, and in the last year it became easier to choose a budget model. They are connected to the desired device through the "device search", where you just need to choose the name of your headphones. The main thing, do not forget to turn the headphones on before that.

As for the headsets for talking on the phone or Skype, then again you need to choose from DECT and "bluetooth" -variants. Bluetooth headsets are more common due to their versatility and price. True, the range can be frustrating, and the battery in them is rather weak.

Types of headphones

If we talk about the form of models of wireless headphones, then only two are common.

  • Overhead: superimposed on the ear, pressing against it from the outside. Headphones are connected by an arc. Many of these headphones are more convenient, but there is no sound insulation.
  • Vacuum droplets, they are also called "gags." They are inserted into the auricle. Convenient and inexpensive.

Famous Brands

The best manufacturer of headphones, including wireless, is Beats Electronics, a company founded by the popular hip-hop artist Dr.Dre.

In addition to such well-known brands as Sony, LG and Samsung, the Chinese company AirBeats produces a quality product.
