How to become a good person: thinking about

We are all people, all - people, all different, and each has his own idea of Goodness, Justice and other moral and ethical values. As well as their ideals, to which we are equals, by which we are guided in our actions. Of course, the absolute majority can not be pleased, and it would be foolish to try to adapt to the general requirements: it's so easy to lose yourself, your own individuality. So, it is necessary to remain true to yourself on this issue, on the one hand, and on the other hand, to try to meet the needs and requirements of the reference group that you belong to, without going beyond the traditional, centuries-old moral standards.

Be quite good

The first lessons of how to become a good person, we get back in childhood. Help the elders and do not offend the younger, protect the weak and do not pass in front of the strong, try to win in a dispute with logic, mind and not fists, tell the truth, and not lie for salvation, answer for your actions and do not hide behind anyone's backs ... Do not be greedy , Share the latter with a friend or even a stranger, do not cheat ... Be kind to animals ... Be able to stand up for oneself, for your beliefs ... The list can go on for a long time, it will be right, but probably cover all the nuances of how to become a good person, Simply impossible. Let us recall the tense search for the meaning of life by Leo Tolstoy and his heroes, their passionate desire to "be quite good", their throwing, moral search, falling and taking off. And the heroes of Dostoevsky? And indeed, all Russian and world classics, the best examples of fiction give us vivid examples of intense spiritual work. And therefore one thing is clear: without willful efforts, without the fact that "the soul must work," we will never understand how to become a good person.

And what does it mean - volitional efforts? It seems that this is the ability to sacrifice one's interests, large or small, for the sake of the other's interests. Give way where you want to insist on your own. To sacrifice what you want to keep. Take on a part of the labor or duties of another. Help with advice or business. In the end, to perform a feat in the name of someone or something. After all, heroism, courage, unselfishness are the higher incarnations of the notion of "good", the moral imperative that people followed in extreme situations.

Examples of how to become a good person, we see often, and it is not necessary to perform a feat in everyday life. Be competent in some issues and use it for the benefit of friends, acquaintances, relatives. Be a caring son or daughter in relation to aging parents, a devoted wife or husband - to his half. Respect the subordinates, if you go to the bosses, and do not croon before the higher ranks. First of all, preserving adherence to principles in relation to oneself also means becoming a person. Do not disregard the moral principles that you consider to be decisive.

And, finally, the most important. As already mentioned, "good" is a subjective concept. A person can be considered a scoundrel in society, but he will be good for the person to whom he helped, whether it is a ruble, a service, etc. Enlightened personalities, such as Christ, Buddha or sages-Teacher Osho, the Dalai Lama, are extremely few, few in the millions. Equally, like a small group of those who are engaged in charity from the heart, at the call of the heart, as did Mother Teresa or Lady Diana. And they did not become absolutes of virtue for all mankind. Consequently, the question of how to become a person, not only from the category of eternal, philosophical, but also, let's say, narrow-group. Its "comfilo" exists in every single reference environment. Not all "aliens" can adapt to it, and it is not necessary.

The main thing, probably, is not to be indifferent, complacent, not to live by the principle of "my hut with the edge." Try to realize your positive potential as far as possible and with the strength.
