A soil in which a Chinese rose will grow well (home care involves a mandatory transplant, even if you have purchased a plant in a pot), must be saturated with air and moisture. And this means that ready-made soil mixtures from flower shops are not exactly suitable for hibiscus (there are too many peat in them). It is better to make a substrate for the Chinese rose by yourself. It is necessary to add sand, turf and leaf humus to ordinary soil. The latter makes the soil water-soluble, which is very important for hibiscus. Check the acidity of the soil - it must be slightly acidic, so that hibiscus successfully absorbs nutrients from the substrate.

If you have a Chinese rose on the windowsill, home care should include control of the lighting. Select a southern or eastern window for the plant and make sure that it does not overheat. The north side would be ideal for hibiscus if it could be made to bloom in low light conditions. After all, in order for the buds to appear on the Chinese rose, it is necessary to be up to six hours a day in direct sunlight. Initially, this plant is an inhabitant of the tropics, it has no period of rest. Therefore, the flowering of hibiscus can continue indefinitely if it has enough light, and the temperature is between twenty-four and thirty degrees Celsius. At a higher, the buds will fall off. Roots need to be shaded.

Feed hibiscus complex fertilizers with a reduced content of phosphorus.

If your house is well behaved Chinese rose - the reproduction of it, too, will not be difficult for you. It can be done by dividing the bush, seeds and cuttings. The easiest way is the last method. For him, you can take shoots that have remained after pruning. They should not be shorter than ten centimeters. First they are kept in a container of water, and after the appearance of the roots are transplanted into a loose peat mixture.
