Growing strawberries from seeds, as well as what is a remontant strawberry

Growing strawberries is a fascinating and difficult process. On the one hand, you need to make considerable efforts that the strawberries begin to bear fruit, and on the other - it is so nice to enjoy a good result. There are several ways of cultivating strawberries: reproduction with whiskers, bush dividing and seeds. The easiest way is to reproduce with mustaches, more difficultly with seeds. But this does not mean that growing strawberries from seeds is a mission impossible. It is enough to follow a few simple recommendations.

Growing strawberries from seeds

To all went well, for planting is best to choose high-quality varieties of strawberries. Growing strawberries from seeds can look like this:

· First you need to grow seedlings. This can be done either in a greenhouse or in an apartment setting by planting it in a box filled with good nutritive ground. The soil needs to be thoroughly poured and wait until the water is absorbed. Then on the surface it is necessary to decompose the seeds, not filling them with earth. On top of the box you need to put glass or film, thereby creating a greenhouse condition. Drawer put in a warm place. When the seedlings appear, the shelter is removed, and the box is moved to the window sill, if it was not there before. When 2-3 present leaflets appear, the seedlings must be dived into pots or cups. Seedlings should not lack moisture and sunlight.

· Adult and strengthened seedlings can be confidently transplanted into the open ground. To do this, you must first prepare the soil. Growing strawberries from seeds can begin in both autumn and spring. An obligatory condition for planting is open, unobserved plots, since solar heat and light will play an important role in the further development of strawberries. It will be good if before planting the seedlings in the open ground, the soil will be checked for the presence of larvae of the wireworm and the May beetle. Also, the ground needs to be cleared from the roots of weeds. Further care for strawberries will be reduced to weeding, feeding and timely watering.

· Growing strawberries from seeds collected by oneself, rather than bought in a store, is also a good option. It is important only to properly collect and prepare the seeds. When the strawberry ripens, you need to choose the largest and strongest berries, cut them neatly with a blade of their peel, grind and dry them in the sun. After this, the seeds must be separated from the pulp, folded into a paper bag and stored in a dry place at room temperature. Properly dried and stored seeds can be stored for up to 3-4 years.

Cultivation of patched strawberries

Repaired is not a way of breeding strawberries, but its special kind. Repaired strawberries are of two types: small-fruited and large-bodied. From all other varieties of strawberries, the repair is different than in one season it can bear more than two times, while the usual garden - only once. Repaired strawberry gives the first harvest a little, and its maturation period is at the time when normal varieties are ripening. Next, the berries are sung throughout the summer and autumn, in simple terms, until the frost begins. The repairing strawberry is also planted a little differently: the distance between the seedlings depends on how a particular variety knows how to form a mustache. The higher this ability, the corresponding, respectively, the higher the distance. The average distance is 50-55 cm. The planting period is autumn or spring. Repaired strawberry likes nutritious soils, so before planting in the soil it is necessary to make mineral fertilizers (potassium nitrate, superphosphate). Care for such a strawberry is common: the removal of mustaches, weeding and watering. If we talk about the latter, then it should be abundant, especially at the time when berries begin to pour.
