Group "Stagecoach" - Leningrad or Borisoglebsk?

In search of information about such a collective as the group "Stagecoach", you can find conflicting information. The composition of the participants is different, the names of the creators, even the years of existence. All this, of course, can lead to bewilderment. If you do not know that the group "Stagecoach" exists (or existed) is not in the singular.

For the older generation, a musical collective with this name is familiar for rock music and their albums "The Tour of the Stagecoach", "Space Varangians". Yes, and many young people probably heard at least one song, while, perhaps, they do not even know who was its performer. "A hippopotamus does not have a waist ..." Do you remember this?

The Leningrad rock band started its existence in 1978, when the singer and guitarist Fedor Stolyarov, bass guitarist Oleg Kiselev and singer Gennady Labunsky gathered in a small club, which became their rehearsal base, and began to play their songs. The collective changed its name several times. There were options such as "Thoughts and Time" or "Eternal Movement". The name "Stagecoach" appeared thanks to Stolyarov and one of his songs.

The path to fame was not easy. The team performed at city venues, played at dances, recorded songs, but many of them never saw the light. The albums of the group "Stagecoach" were recorded on magnetic media, and the debut collection was created at home, practically "on the knees". Repeatedly changed the composition of the group. In 1981, the musicians took an active part in the creation of the rock club, but there was no permanent cooperation. They managed to enter the professional stage only in 1983 after signing an agreement with the Magadan Philharmonic. The touring life began. New songs were born, popularity grew. But we will remind that censorship did not doze during those years. The Ministry of Culture conducted active work directed against fate. And this greatly limited the possibilities for the distribution of music of this style. Despite its popularity, the "Stagecoach" group could not perform in both capitals. Naturally, both the media were not eager to cover events, festivals, concerts not officially approved by the government. The collective existed until 1988, but nothing remained of the original composition. Back in 1983, Gennady Labunsky left, in 1986 - Fedor Stolyarov. The last of the founders left the group was Oleg Kiselev in 1988.

But, as we said at the beginning of the article, the name "Stagecoach" belongs not only to the collective from the former Leningrad. In the late nineties, music fans first heard the speeches of the brothers Sergei and Alexei Sayapin - young people from the Voronezh region. This group "Stagecoach" makes all songs close to folklore, only in modern arrangements. They create a sense of celebration and fun, with a bit of humor and irony. So all the songs recorded on audio cassettes quickly spread around the country and became loved by the people.

In 2001, the first professional album of children was released. At the moment, the group "Stagecoach" from Borisoglebsk does not stand still, it embodies creative ideas, creates new projects, and at times is ready to please its fans with musical accompaniment of various celebrations.
