This man has made a real cultural revolution, attaching mankind to a high dramatic art. And today his works delight the readers and visitors of theaters with their depth, penetration, relevance. Therefore, his biography is of interest to many. William Shakespeare is undoubtedly a genius who has overtaken his era.

Birth of a genius

He was born in 1564, April 23, in Stratford-upon-Avon. William's father was a fairly wealthy man: he was engaged in craft and trade. The mother was the daughter of a local farmer belonging to an ancient clan in the county of Warkshire. There were many children in the family, but parents tried to give them a good education.

William Shakespeare, whose biography is not known for certain and has many blank spots, studied at a free elementary school. Most likely, there he received his basic knowledge of Latin. The fascination with the theater probably appeared early enough: the future dramatist attended performances in Coventry and in his native Stratford.

In 1574 (or 1575), William entered the grammar school at the upper level. Already here he became acquainted with rhetoric and logic, speech and recitation in prose and verse, for the first time composed an essay on a given topic. William Shakespeare, whose brief biography is familiar to almost every educated person, knew well the classical literature and its techniques, the works of Juvenal, Virgil, Ovid and Horace. However, the dramatist's father went bankrupt and took his son from school. But the knowledge gained was enough for selfless creativity for the benefit of the theater.

Marriage and Love

How did his biography develop further? William Shakespeare married the daughter of a wealthy landowner. Anne Hathaway was eight years older than the bridegroom and was still waiting for the baby. To marry, relatives had to obtain permission from the court. With the marriage of the playwright, there is also a romantic legend about his fervent love for another girl, who formed the basis of the script for the film "Shakespeare in Love".

What else interesting about the life of a great genius can tell his biography? William Shakespeare leaves his hometown for a reason not entirely understandable to contemporaries. What he did several years after the county of Stratford, is unknown. Perhaps he went to London, becoming an actor of one of the troupes. William did not achieve any special success in his career, however, a decent stage experience enabled him to know the needs of the public and its preferences.

Triumph of the playwright

The first plays of Shakespeare were staged on the stage of the theater "Rose", built in 1587 by Philip Henslow. They had incredible popularity, which pushed him to further work. By the end of the sixteenth century, the legacy of the playwright was 22 works, not counting the sonnets. Another dozen masterpieces he wrote by 1608. Such activities, which were patronized by influential people, brought Shakespeare material well-being. Therefore, he paid for the right to have his own coat of arms and since then has signed only as a "gentleman."

What else is his biography interesting? William Shakespeare returns triumphantly to Stratford, buys a luxurious estate there. And in 1601 his first Globus Theater was opened, the troupe performed at the court of the king. He can afford long-distance sea expeditions, he buys shares of the Blackfriars Theater. The brilliant playwright died on his birthday, April 23, 1616, in his hometown, where he is buried in the parish church.
