Grandmother's Cemetery: a description of how to get there

Babushkinsky Cemetery is located in the North-East District of Moscow and occupies more than 11 hectares of land.

Necropolis was established in 1913 near the city of Losinoostrovsk, later renamed in the city of Babushkin. In 1960, the territory entered the administrative border of Moscow and was included in the list of metropolitan cemeteries.

Near the churchyard is the temple of the martyrs Adrian and Natalia, founded around 1914-1916.

On the site at number 10 on the left side of the central alley there is a special place - the mass grave of soldiers who died during the Second World War.

Burial places

Many famous personalities rest on the Babushkinsky cemetery. Among them, People's Artist of Russia - Vadim Zakharchenko. He is a famous actor who played in such famous films as "Resident's Error", "Quiet Flows the Don", "Missing Expedition". Total on his account more than 150 roles.

Here are the graves of the Heroes of the Soviet Union:

• Kuchumov Alexander Mikhailovich - Major General of Aviation, on account of which more than 200 sorties;
• Grishin Alexei Nikonovich - Lieutenant Colonel, who committed 378 sorties. He also participated in about 50 air battles, thanks to him at the end of the war, 13 enemy planes were shot down;
• Shcherbakova Arsentia Arsentyevich - lieutenant colonel, who led the preparation and transfer of the regiment through the Dnieper on October 2, 1943.

Babushkinsky Cemetery: how to get

It is more convenient and better to get to the churchyard from the metro station "VDNKH". Walking to the final destination will be problematic, so it is advisable to use public transport.

Leaving the metro station, you should wait for the bus, following one of the routes: No. 172, 136, 903 and 244. You can also take the trolleybus №76. Those who are in a hurry, we recommend using a fixed-route taxi at number 675.

Necropolis is located on the Yaroslavl highway, and it's simply impossible to drive past it. A large area of the churchyard looks very modern and comfortable. The administration equipped the Babushkinsky cemetery with all the necessary ritual services, which are relevant for visiting graves. A full list is available from the employees. The basic services include free equipment rental and watering of plants.
