Gorpark of Saratov is a wonderful place!

Historical digression

Gorpark Lukomorye Saratov allocates from many cities of Russia. The point is that this cultural and entertainment zone has a rather long history of development. In particular, the first ideas regarding the construction of an ecological center in the city arose at the beginning of the XIX century, when A. Panchulidzev (Saratov governor) decided to build a manor on this place, which will be surrounded by a dense and beautiful grove. Starting from 1813, the Saratov city park district began to be built up with stone buildings, which was built in architectural terms. At the same time, captive Frenchmen were brought to the city on the Volga , who, on the order of the governor, planted oaks on the grounds of the estate, erected dams separating the cold springs.

After the death of Alexei Panchulidzev, the estate was transferred to the merchant Meshchaninov, and only in 1844 these lands were redeemed for the Mariinsky Institute of Noble Maidens. The further fate of the Sarapovs' city park is classical: the land passed from hand to hand, and resourceful entrepreneurs did their own money on this. In particular, Artamonov - a large entrepreneur - profitably sold the site to the management of the Ryazan-Ural Railways, which erected here one of the largest hospitals in Saratov (it, by the way, carries out its activities to this day).

At the end of the XX century and the beginning of the XXI century, the Saratov city park was transformed. From the former there were only some monuments and sculptures, an oak grove and ponds. It is here that a monument to the fighters of the Revolution is erected, a bust to the governor Panchulidzev - as a tribute to the past. Throughout the territory lawns are planted, pedestrian paths are ennobled. Even a mini-zoo is organized, which contains the bear Masha, squirrels, black and white swans, ducks and geese.
