"Golden Sofit" (prize): nominees and laureates

The first award ceremony for the most significant and brilliant achievements in the theatrical art was held in the distant nineties. Since that time, the honorable jury has been defining worthy prize winners every year.

History of creation

In 1995, the history of another theatrical award - "Golden Sofit" began. Competitions in the theatrical world take place annually. This award is designed to recognize and evaluate the merits of each outstanding theater, director or stage worker in the theatrical field of St. Petersburg.

Initially, the award was awarded on the basis of not one, but two seasons, beginning in 1993/1994 and 1994/1995.

The awarding ceremony in 1995 was held at the Alexandrinsky Theater. The Council of the festival represented to the awards actors, actresses, directors, stage decorators, directors, conductors, choreographers, the productions themselves and scenarios.

Among the first applicants for this award were Alisa Freindlich and Gennady Bogachev, the best performance in the genre of drama was the production of Maria Stuart.

Nominations

Organizers of the Golden Sofit prize are trying to cover all spheres of theatrical art. For the convenience of the evaluation, the competition was divided into three parts:

• drama Theatre;

• Theater of music;

• Puppetry theater.

In addition, special prizes are awarded every year, which go beyond the three main categories. Laureates in them become honored cultural figures who have dedicated their entire life to the stage or have made an invaluable contribution to the development of the theater.

In each of these categories there are several nominations. Organizers can expand their number. For example, in the department of "Drama" in 1995 there were nominations "The best role of an actress", "The best role of an actor", "The best production of a director", "Best performance".

In the department of "Musical Actions" the award was given to the first ballerinas, elite performers of male roles in ballet, male singers of vocal parts, female performers of vocal parts, ballet and opera productions, conductors, directors, artists, debutants and debutantees.

In the category of "Puppet Art", actresses and actors who voiced the characters of the performance, as well as stage directors were awarded.

Later, the actors were added to the nominees and actresses of the second plan, performances of small and large forms, troupes and so on.

Today the nominations have become much larger. The whole theatrical life is estimated with the help of the Golden Sofit. Regardless of what exactly a person creates for a performance, he can be awarded a bonus if he does it with great skill and love.

The awarding party

Each of the nominees for the award is chosen by the jury. The commission varies from year to year. In the "Golden Sofit" ceremony, the prize can be awarded to one person several times. Judges operate within the same category and submit their proposals only in closed voting.

The expert jury should remain completely unbiased. That is why the new generation is changing with more respectable.

Just before the ceremony, another meeting of the authoritative council takes place. During it, winners are determined in their nominations.

Prizes at the ceremony of the laureates are presented by famous cultural figures. Receiving the award "Golden Sofit", the winners say a solemn speech, which theatricals are then often disassembled into quotes.

Council of the award

The council consists of:

• Organizing Committee of the Golden Sofit, he performs the main functions of the ceremony,

• Council of theaters,

• Nomination jury,

• The board of the Union of Theater Workers in Russia (the branch of St. Petersburg), which expresses its authoritative opinion about the candidates for the Golden Sofit, the prize finds its winners largely due to their common decision.

The Council also determines annually how many nominations will be awarded.

The head of the organization department of the award has been the People's Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolai Burov for a long time.

Location of the ceremony

The first place of the award was in 1995, the Alexandrinsky Theater. Later, he was returned several times to the ceremony: in 1997, 2003 and 2004.

In 1996, the venue was chosen "Music Hall." More organizers did not use the services of this institution.

Once the award was also held at the Musical Comedy Theater in 2002.

Nevertheless, the most often opened its doors is the BDT named after GA. Tovstonogov, which has become almost home to the winners and guests of the Golden Sofit. The award was given in this institution more than six times.

In recent years, starting in 2012, the solemn presentation of prizes takes place at the Theater of the Young Spectator Bryantsev.

Traditionally, the awarding ceremony falls on one of the autumn months.

The most elite award in the field of theater has its own goals and objectives. The organizers of the Golden Sofitel direct all their efforts to:

• To preserve and develop the city theatrical foundations,

• To reveal and demonstrate to the general public outstanding talents,

• To define fashionable trends in the theatrical business,

• Support novice directors and collectives, as it was, in particular, during the presentation of the Golden Soffit - 2014, nominees for the prize are already considered winners.

Ceremony

The Organizing Committee of "Golden Sofit" chooses the place, as well as the time of the solemn event. Each of the winners is notified in advance about where the ceremony will take place.

The main event of the last year was held on November 10. Guests were waiting for the Young Spectators Theater. Bryantsev.

During the festive meeting at the ceremony, the jury presents laureates of the statuette "Golden Sofit". The award also implies diplomas, which list the merits of the awarded actor or organization.

Figurines are transferred to the irretrievable possession of the winners.

Sponsors can add their own to these awards, having previously agreed everything with the organization of the competition.

Financing

According to the official statute of the Golden Sofit, the main source of funding for the project is the St. Petersburg Art Center itself, as well as the Russian Federation.

The public organizations of St. Petersburg, which are interested in supporting and further developing the theatrical world, also help with funding.

Part of the money comes from generous sponsors, as well as charitable donations to the fund awards.

The Organizing Committee of the Golden Sofit is in charge of all resources at its own discretion.

"Golden Sofit" - 2014

The Golden Sofitel Award - 2014 announced its list of nominees in August of the same year. And in November ceremonial statuettes were presented.

As a result of the outgoing theatrical season, it was especially difficult to choose the most worthy ones, because all the beloved residents of the Melpomene Church became pretenders. They have already won the ceremony for the Golden Soffit ceremony - 2014. The laureates of the current award are considered to be masters of their work, recognized throughout the world.

In the opinion of the Golden Sofit Committee, the best director of this season is Lev Dodin. His original production "The Cherry Orchard" deserved universal respect and honor.

"Sad" was awarded in another nomination - as the most deserving among the performances of 2013-2014. The whole production earned three awards. Unfortunately, the director himself was absent in the country at that time, so he instructed his deputy to receive prizes, as well as to express his warmest thanks.

In the category "Drama theaters" honored the excellent A. Freindlich as the best among actresses. She was recognized as a winner due to the role of Alice in the play directed by Andrei Moguchy. For her, this is not the first award from the Golden Sofit. It was Freundlich who won the first prize at the contest in 1995.

The actress delivered a very touching speech about the activities of the Golden Sofit - 2014. The laureates enthusiastically welcomed her. She shared her feelings about the future of the modern theater and expressed her hope that theatrical art will live forever.

The performance with the name "Alice" was awarded in the category "Small Scene".

Sergei Peregudov, when he was given the main male role in the production "We Are All Fine People," did not exactly expect to be awarded the title of "An Actor Who Performed His Party Superb".

For several years in a row, O. Ryazantsev, who played in the "Cherry Orchard" Petr Sergeevich Trofimov, receives the prize for a secondary role.

A separate prize "For Contribution to Theater City Art" was awarded to two great actresses: Tatyana Shchuko and Gabriel Komlev.

The musical performance "Not only love", but also the ballet with the title "Vain Precaution" are recognized as winners in the category "Musical Art". It was they who got the Golden Soffit.

Award 2014, whose laureates were among non-governmental institutions, very pleased with absolutely all the guests. Theater-innovator "Behind the Black River" took the prize for the play "Storm" by Ivan Stavsky.

The creative duet of Anna Vartanyan and Sergei Byzgu became the first among the "Best Actor Tandems". The actors played together in the play "Grafoman".

The number one was recognized by Annette Kurtz, and the best lighting artist was Mark Van Deness, who designed the play "Macbeth".
