Golden Section in Architecture

For a long time already mankind has known such a phenomenon as the golden section in architecture. His secret was interesting to Euclid, Plato, Leonardo da Vinci, Kepler, and many other great thinkers. They inseparably linked this concept with the notion of universal harmony, which pervades the universe.

Classical manifestations of this phenomenon are household items, architecture, sculpture, music, mathematics and aesthetics. In the last century, with the expansion of the field of human knowledge, the number of spheres where there is a phenomenon of the golden section has sharply increased. This is zoology, biology, economics, cybernetics, psychology, astronomy, geology and the theory of complex systems.

Under the golden section is understood such a proportion, which in ancient times magicians attributed unusual properties. If we divide the object into two unequal parts in such a way that the ratio of the smaller to the larger will be the same as the ratio of the greater to the whole object, then we will get a golden section in the architecture.

Such a relationship can be simplified as two to three or three to five. It has long been established that people objects containing a golden section are perceived as the most harmonious, that is, beautiful and pleasing to the eye.

The golden section in architecture was noticed long ago. You can specify such objects as the Egyptian pyramids, as well as many works of art - sculptures, paintings and movies. For most artists, the use of the golden section is intuitive. However, some did it deliberately.

In the books about this phenomenon there are notes that in terms of architecture everything depends on the position of the observer, therefore if some proportions of the building from one angle seem to form a golden section, while on the other hand they can look quite Otherwise.

Thanks to the golden section it is possible to make the most harmonious ratio of sizes and lengths. You can give an example of ancient architecture, showing a golden section - the Pantheon. In the structure of the cathedral "Noterdham de Paris", too, there is a golden section in architecture.

Such a famous architect, as M. Kazakov, skillfully used it in his own work. With the versatility of his talent, he revealed himself in numerous projects of estates and houses. In the architecture of the building of the Kremlin senate, you can find a golden section. One of the most perfect architectural objects is Pashkov's house in Moscow. It was created by V. Bazhenov.

For a long time, the shape of the tetrahedral pyramid serves as an object of thought for inquisitive minds. The pyramid in the zone of its influence indirectly or directly corrects the spatial structure, bringing it closer to a harmonious state.

All that is or falls into this space begins its development in a harmonious direction. The dynamics of elimination or mitigation of all negative manifestations strongly depends on the size of the pyramid, compliance with all geometric relationships and orientation in space. When its height doubles, the active effect becomes stronger more than a hundred times.

Many people tried to unravel the secrets of the pyramid located in Giza. It differs from other Egyptian pyramids that it is not a tomb, but an insoluble puzzle of combinations of numbers.

The golden section in painting has been used for as long as in architecture. Annually, a lot of books are published on the application of these principles in different spheres of life. Authors of such studies combine the golden section with such concepts as asymmetry, beauty, self-organization, recursion and proportions. Lately, there have been many sites devoted to such a topic as the golden section in design.

This issue is so important that many researchers and authors are still devoted to it.
