Gardner's Loop: How to Knit to Get a Rich Catch

Such a process of fishing that is desired for the fisherman, especially when bottom gear is used, is often overshadowed by the overlapping of the leash and offshoot for the sinker. Someone from the fishermen is nervous and still does nothing, but most prefer to solve the problem. As the numerous reviews of experienced anglers show, the simplest, but, oddly enough, the most effective way to solve is the paternoster, or else the Gardner's loop. How to knit a paternoster, he described, and later the name went to the people.

Advantages of Gardner's Loop

This method is the simplest. It does not require additional tools or parts. It is noticed that when catching the feeder Gardner's loop has an excellent sensitivity. If the feeder is properly manufactured, then the entanglement between the leash, the lines and feeders will be minimized, resulting in optimal bite when using bottom gear. In addition, this method allows you to easily change feeders if necessary.

If we describe briefly, then the paternoster scheme is a three-beam union of the line segments, in which the main line, the load and the branch for the leash are present. Or, in other words, it's an uncomplicated design that holds both the bird feeder, the leash, and the line itself.

Where to apply this method

This very convenient rig, the Gardner's loop, is used for bottom fishing on rivers, but some anglers use it even on stagnant water bodies. It all depends on the experience of the fisherman. Try this method in different conditions to choose the right one.

We knit a Gardner loop (paternoster)

This type of tooling is tied in a few simple ways, which will be described in the article. Beginner anglers can face not only the questions about what Gardner's loop is, how to knit it and how to use it, but what line is needed.

For the Gardner loop, a monotrophic or woven main line is required. Two types of fishing line with different diameters can be used, but always use a thinner line for the feeder connection. You will remember this advice if, when cutting a fish, the feeder is caught for an obstacle in the form of a driftwood or a brow. Then there is a chance to still carry the trophy with you, cutting off the diversion with the feeder.

The algorithm of the action is as follows. It is necessary to take the main line and at its end make a nodal loop of 2-3 cm (to connect the snap to the leash). Next, you need to indent (about 10-15 cm) and connect a larger loop (about 5-10 cm). To mount the feeder, a large loop is passed into the swivel, and the feeder into the loop. The last step is to attach the leash and the hook. Now you have a ready Gardner loop.

How to knit a spare snap?

For this, a piece of fishing line from 60 to 90 cm is folded in half, but taking into account that one end will be longer by 20 cm. Then make a large loop with a five-fold pass through the ring. The line will have ends of different length, each of which makes a loop with a triple knot. On the middle loop, attach the feeder, on the long end - the leash, connect the short end with a loop to the main line. Spare snap-ins can be done arbitrarily much. The reserve will make the fishing process more comfortable, because even a minor breakage or deterioration of the main equipment will not prevent further, because the replacement will take place easily and quickly.

Advice

So, now you know almost everything about the way of rigging the "Gardner's loop": how to knit, where to use. But it is necessary to take into account: the length of the bend, which will be used for connection to the leash, should be somewhat larger than the entire length of the feeder and the hinge. Before tightening, all the nodes are better moistened to prevent tearing or breaking the line. Excellent catch!
