Garden swings with their own hands

Most of the free time in the warm season we try to spend on the backyard, enjoying the fresh air and silence. Therefore, it is necessary to take care of the arrangement of the corner for rest. And if you have children, then about the playground. One of the main attributes of any site was the garden swing.

With your hands, you can make every game element, piece of furniture for relaxation, arrange flowerbeds and convenient paths. Let's look at how you can make a garden swing with your own hands. For this you can use any improvised material that is available.

The most simple garden swings with their own hands

We need a strong rope, a board and a tree with a strong branch, located parallel to the ground at a sufficient height. We choose a suitable board for sitting. Its dimensions will depend on the purpose of the swing. For the baby a small rectangular piece of board will do. In each corner we drill a hole, having retreated from the edges three centimeters.

We cut off two pieces of a thin rope and we throw them through a branch of a tree. We insert each end into the seat hole on our side. We bind in pairs, forming a loop from each segment, while simultaneously aligning the edges of the seat in height. If desired, you can paint the seat or cover it with varnish.

Garden swings with your own hands from an old tire

In this case, the tire is used as a seat. The principle of production is very similar to the previous one. In the tire we make four through holes. The rope, thrown through the branch, is passed through the holes that have been made and we connect the ends. If you do not want to cut the tire, you can simply pass through the central hole and tie it. In this case, each end of the rope is fixed personally.

Baby swing with your own hands

This model is suitable if you have several kids in your family or you are ready to rock your child. We need a long strong board, a small thick log and a few blocks. Put the log on its side. Close to it we put one bar on each side so that they lie on one side of the ground and we nail it. This will fix the log and will not allow him to ride.

We divide the board into two equal parts and make a mark. We lay it on a log so that their center coincides. We protect our crossbar from each side with small bars, not allowing it to move aside. At the end of the board we measure thirty centimeters and fasten the bracket, which will serve as a handle. Seats are painted in bright colors or varnished.

But what to do if there are no adult trees on the site, and you really want to assemble the hanging garden swings with your own hands? In this case, it is necessary to make the side racks with the crossbar yourself, using a thick bar or pieces of a metal pipe. The method you choose will depend on your skills in carpentry or welding. We will consider the manufacture of lateral triangular supports from a bar.

For one element of the construction, we need two long segments and one short one. We take two large bars and add them in such a way that we get a large letter "L" with small horns. We drill a through hole and fasten the parts with a bolt with a nut. After that, we impose a short piece of the bar, getting a large letter "A". We use bolts to connect parts. The cross bar will give strength to our lateral support.

Making thus two parts, we dig them in a ground, having in parallel each other. If you want to give the design more strength, then additionally thread the legs of the side racks. On the finished side supports we stack the crossbar. It can be a metal pipe or a bar. The horns will not let it slip. Fix it with bolts, firmly bolting to the side racks.

The seat of the swing is made in the form of a bench with a backrest. For its fastening on the crossbar we use a thick chain. You can just toss the lengths of the chain across the crossbar, fixing their ends on the back and seat of the bench, or hanging the swing to the rings.
