French director Georges Lautner: biography, filmography

Georges Lautner is a screenwriter, producer, director from France. He gained fame through collaborations with Michel Odiar and the use of his lines in films. The peak of their joint work is the film "Uncle Gangsters." Georges Lautner is known all over the world for his work "Professional" in 1981.

Biography

Lautner is a native Frenchman. He was born on 24.01.1926 in the city of Nice, in France. Father George, a jeweler by profession, was fond of aviation, served as a pilot on a fighter, participated in an air show. Mother Georges, Marie-Louise-Vitor, was an actress. When George became a director, he shot his mother in films under the pseudonym René Saint-Cyr.

In 1933, Lautner's mother moved with her boy to Paris. Here, Marie-Louise has made significant progress in her career. In 1938, Georges's father was killed in a plane crash.

Education Lautner, Jr. began to receive in the Paris lyceum Zhanson de Sayy. Parallel to training, the guy leads an active lifestyle, participates in youth movements, monitors the political situation.

After the lyceum Georges Lautner (his films are not interested right now) he graduated from the university with a specialization in "philosophy" and got a job. Having replaced several professions, in 1945 the future master of cinematography becomes a decorator in the film directed by Leon Matota La Route du bagne.

In 1947 George served in the military forces of Austria. There he receives a specialty of the projectionist on 16-mm film. After serving some time in Austria, Lautner is transferred to the Paris Cinematographic Service. Here he works with director Marcel Bluewal and cameraman Claude LeCom.

After the Second World War, not many directors shot comedies. Due to his thirst for activity and incredible diligence Georges quickly achieved success in his career. In his films, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Louis de Funes and other famous French actors were shot. To many of his films, George Lautner himself wrote scripts.

His first film "Pan or disappeared" as a director Georges took off in 1960.

The film tells the audience about the fraudster-scam who recently left the prison and started up new adventures. The script for the film was written by Jean Herman and Michel Odiar. The painting was dubbed into Russian and broadcast in the Soviet Union. Here it was watched by over 30 million people.

The criminal fighter "Professional" was shot by Lautner in 1981. The main role in the film was again performed by Jean-Paul Belmondo. The script for the painting was written based on the novel by the writer Patrick Alexander. The composer was Ennio Morricone.

The film tells the story of a secret agent who was sent on a mission to Africa in order to kill the president of an African country. The painting was nominated for "Cesar" in 1982 for musical accompaniment, was awarded the German "Golden Screen" in 1983.

Death

Lautner died at the age of 87 in Paris on November 22, 2013. The creative heritage of the director interests spectators today.
