Footballer Belkevich Valentin: biography, achievements, causes of death

Valentin Belkevich, the reasons for his death for more than a day, were kept secret, he was sentenced to life for the life of the Belarusian Football Hall of Fame. Former midfielder of Kiev Dynamo is from Minsk, but spent most of his career in Ukraine. For a long time he was married to the famous singer Anna Sedokova.

Career football player

Valentin Belkevich started professional sports since 1991. The first team was the Minsk "Dynamo", for which he performed for 5 seasons. For 202 games, the midfielder managed to excel 43 times, thanks to which he was repeatedly recognized as the best football player of the championship.

After the Minsk club, Belkevich Valentin received a favorable offer from the Kiev "Dynamo", which he gladly answered with consent. The debut match of Belarus for the new team was a fundamental derby with the capital's CSKA Moscow in July 1996.

At first, career in Kiev for Valentine was not very successful. For the first two seasons, he still could not gain a foothold in the starting lineup. For the better, the situation changed with the arrival of Valery Lobanovsky in the team, who replaced Jozsef Szabo in the coaching field .

In the late 1990s, the attacking triangle Rebrov-Shevchenko-Belkevich was played in Dynamo. Valentin in this trio played the role of a connecting playmaker between two forwards. It is thanks to his ability to give accurate passes from any point of the field, Kiev beat more than half of all goals in the season. This cult trio personified all power and corporate style of the then Dynamo.

For the Kiev team, the Belarusian midfielder held 317 official matches, in which he scored 70 goals. Belkevich is still one of the record holders of Dynamo in terms of the number of meetings held. This is a real legend of the club, along with Shevchenko and Lobanovsky.

In 2008, unexpectedly for his fans, Valentin signed a contract with the Baku team "Inter", for which he spent one full season. After the completion of the Azerbaijan championship, the playmaker hung his boots on the nail, giving preference to coaching.

For the national team of Belarus, Belkevich played 56 games, having distinguished himself 10 times.

Career coach

Having finished playing for Inter, Valentine planned to get a job in the structure of Kiev Dynamo. Nevertheless, the club management was not in a hurry with offers. Despite this, the fans continued to link the future of their beloved team with only the name Belkevich. Valentin also repeatedly stated this in various interviews. Agreeing with the majority opinion, Dynamo leaders offered their former player to become an assistant coach of the youth team. Refuse to experience such a football player did not and began his duties in the summer of 2010.

For two years Valentin has diligently helped his colleagues to win prizes in the youth championship. And in 2012 he was appointed head coach of the youth team. By the next season, Belkevich started working as the first mentor of the backup team of Dynamo.

Honored Champion

During his career as a football player, Valentin became four times champion of Belarus and twice winner of the national cup.

As part of the Kiev "Dynamo" midfielder won 13 gold medals in various tournaments and championships. Also since 2000, he was recognized several times as the best football player of the Ukrainian league. In December 2006 Belkevich Valentin received the highest award from the executive committee of the federation of Belarusian sports - "Honorary Badge".

At the moment is one of the most hammering midfielders of Belarus.

Unexpected death

Valentin Belkevich knew every sports fan in his homeland. That is why his death was a tragedy for the whole country.

August 1, 2014 died the great footballer of the Minsk and Kiev Dynamo Valentin Belkevich. Causes of death were established within a day. Midfielder died of thromboembolism. On the night of August 1, his heart suddenly stopped. Three days later at the stadium "Dynamo" in Kiev farewell to the legend of Belarusian football, which came to several hundred people. Among them were relatives and friends of the deceased, representatives of the sports federations of Belarus and Ukraine, veterans, colleagues, pupils and fans who were not indifferent to Valentin.

All those who came to the funeral laid flowers and said good-bye to the legend of the national football. The former wife of Belkevich, Anna Sedokova, together with their common daughter Alina, did not become an exception.

On August 3, 2014, the midfielder was buried in Kiev at the Baykovoye cemetery.
