Flag and coat of arms of the Republic of Bashkortostan

The state emblem of the Republic of Bashkortostan, in the version that we see now, was adopted quite recently. The flag as a symbol of the state has also undergone many changes. Changes in state symbols, the coat of arms and the flag of the Republic of Belarus have left a mark on history.

The influence of history and politics on state symbols

The Republic of Bashkortostan was part of Russia, and therefore the political history of our country is completely connected with Bashkiria. Tsarist Russia after the revolution began to be called the RSFSR, then the USSR was formed, and now the Russian Federation. In connection with these political changes, the appearance of the state symbols of Bashkortostan, the coat of arms and the flag changed.

A bit of history about how the emblem of the Republic of Bashkortostan was created

At the beginning of the 17th century, when Bashkiria became part of Russia, the first seal for the Ufa Prikaznaya Hut was produced in the order of the Kazan Palace. The seal was the first coat of arms of the capital of Bashkiria, the city of Ufa. It showed a traveling marten.

In 1730 two drafts of the coat of arms of the city of Ufa were approved. There was an old coat of arms with a running marten and a new white running horse appeared. The coat of arms was used on the flag of the Ufa garrison regiment, and the coat of arms with the marten was in the Ufa office.

When creating the Ufa vicegerency in the late 18th century, many new emblems appeared. They were not politically colored. But in 1878 the first coat of arms of the Ufa province was approved. It was based on an old coat of arms with a traveling marten and had the appearance of a silver shield. At the top was the imperial crown, along the edges - golden oak leaves with St. Andrew's ribbon, in the center - an azure running marten.

History of the creation of the flag

The former heraldic symbolism was abolished after the revolution in 1917. The Bashkir Central Council on November 29 of that year announced the autonomy of Bashkiria as part of the Russian Federation. Order No. 4547 was approved on August 20 in 1918 by the Bashkir national flag. It was three-striped (blue, white, green). Then from 1924 the flag has a political coloring. It became completely scarlet. In the upper corner to the left was a red star with a gold fringing, and above it gold with the color of a sickle and a hammer.

In 1938, the flag of the BASSR was again changed: the inscription "RSFSR" was added and the "Bashkir ASSR" was written slightly less.

Again the flag of BASSR was changed on March 31 in 1954. A wide blue-blue strip appeared along the flag pole. In this form, the flag lasted quite a long time. On February 25 in 1992, the Supreme Council of the BASSR approved the renewed state flag. Then the Bashkir ASSR began to be called in a new way - the Republic of Bashkortostan. Day February 25 is considered the Day of the National Flag of the Republic of Belarus.

The Legislative Chamber of the State Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on May 27 in 1999 adopted the Law on State Symbols of the Republic of Belarus. Since then, and to this day, only one change has been made to the proportion of the flag. The flag was 1: 2, and became 2: 3 (width to length).

The modern coat of arms of the Republic of Bashkortostan is a symbol of the sovereignty of the republic. After the October Revolution, simultaneously with the flag, the state emblem of the Bashkir Republic was created. The Bashkir Central Executive Committee in March 1925 approves the arms of the ABSSR. On the arms was the inscription "ABSSR", below in Russian and in Bashkir it was written "Proletarians of all countries, unite". Attributes of the coat of arms were a sickle and a hammer.

In February 1938, the arms of the Republic of Bashkortostan were again amended. It was similar to the state emblem of the RSFSR, it was distinguished only by inscriptions in small letters "Bashkir ASSR" and translation in the Bashkir language. With minor changes, this coat of arms existed on October 12, 1993. Then the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus approved the new state coat of arms, which exists to this day.

So, in connection with historical events in the political life of Russia, the Republic of Bashkortostan has changed. The coat of arms and the flag also underwent changes along with it constantly. Symbolism developed along with the republic.
