One-of-a-kind skater, who managed to climb twice on the pedestal of the Olympic Games with two different partners, is Arthur Dmitriev.

Childhood and youth

Arthur Dmitriev was born in the city "White Church" (Kiev region) in 1968 in a frosty night on January 21. Arthur's childhood was held in the glorious city of Norilsk, where he began to pursue sports from his earliest childhood. The boy at that time did not engage in such a sport as figure skating. He, rather, was drawn to more rude men's hobbies. He attended sports sections: hockey, judo and some wrestling. It is this kind of children's entertainment that led to the fact that Arthur has a pronounced athletic build, absolutely uncharacteristic for those who are in figure skating from the very beginning of sports.

The first steps in big sports

His career on ice as a skater young Arthur Dmitriev began as a solo artist in solo skating. At that time the head coach Fanis Shakirzyanov became the instructor of the lone figure skater in the children's and youth sports school, under whose guidance Dmitriev perfected his skill in performing each of the five different triple jumps.

In 1986, Artur Dmitriev, a single figure skater, became a pupil of Tamara Moskvina already within the framework of the Leningrad school. Then the figure skater and put in a pair. His first partner was Natalya Mishkutenok.

Tatyana gave birth to Dmitriyev's son, who in honor of his father was also named Arthur. The son became the true heir of the father. He followed in his footsteps - performed in solo skating. Explaining why he chose this way, the younger Arthur says he knew how his father mingled with his partners, and does not want to repeat his mistakes.

The family lived in America for a long time, and when she returned home, Arthur Dmitriev started coaching, and his wife became a choreographer. Soon, because of Tatiana's jealousy, the couple broke up.

Now the former skater is married for the second time to a woman who has nothing to do with sports. His second wife, like the first one, is called Tatiana, her main activity is accounting. In the second marriage, the figure skater also had a son, who was named Artem.

Awards

The most distinctive and interesting fact from the career of Arthur Dmitriev is that he twice became an Olympic champion in pair skating, but with different partners. In 1992, Artur Dmitriev and Natalia Mishkutenok with the program "Dreams of Love" won all the annual competitions. This program brought the athletes four scores of 6.0. Similar to this speech, the world has not seen 13 years. Well, in 1998, Oksana Kazakova and Arthur Dmitriev most cleanly rolled the program in comparison with their competitors.

Dmitriev's first sporting achievements with his partner started back in 1987, when the pair took on not the prize, but the fourth place in the tournament area, which they won the following year. The next in pair skating, the victory was in the World Universiade, and the figure skaters took second place in the championship in the USSR.

Arthur's debut on the ice of the European Championship was held in 1988, but the World Cup was only achievable for the pair only in 1990 due to the fact that in those years in the Soviet school of figure skating there was a high degree of competition. In that year, the couple received silver (for an arbitrary program) and bronze (for free style), although this program was filled with the most complicated elements.

After that, the pair reached professional level and in 1992 won the tournament called "US Ope". In the tournament among professionals «Challenge of Champions» they took only the third place.

Partners in skating

We can say that the almost lucky ticket for the young figure skater Natalya Mishkutenok was the transfer to the beautiful city, which was then called Leningrad, to the group to the excellent coach Tamara Moskovina. It was this remarkable move that linked her career with Arthur Dmitriev, paired with which the resident of Minsk managed to get the first gold for Belarus. Her homeland to this day marks this victory as the only one. As Dmitriev himself says, for that period the coach gave him the opportunity to choose his partner himself, he chose Natalya from the two options. He admits that he saw in her preparedness and desire for victory.

The figure skater, comparing his two brilliant partners, says that Natalia was very capable, somewhat soft in character and plastic in body. From it it was possible, as from clay, to create and sculpt something. But to all the pluses was her and minus in the form of a little artistry, as Arthur Dmitriev says. Figure skating partner was dull and inexpressive in performance, which had to be smoothed, replacing it with choreography and special programs.
