Family Through the Eyes of Youth

Moscow youth discussed the problems of family and marriage.

A few days ago in the Central House of Journalists a "round table" was held, dedicated to the issues of prestige and the authority of the family in the youth environment, "The Family through the Eyes of Youth". The event was organized by a limited liability company "Talan" with the support of the Department of Family and Youth Policy in Moscow.

Russia at all times was a country of strong family traditions. However, the realities of the last two decades - unemployment, the commercialization of education, the decline in the level of culture, - negatively affected the institution of the family, shook its foundations. The result of such changes in the society was the emergence of a large number of incomplete families, the prestige of the family way of life decreased.

At the moment, family policy, strengthening of marriage and family institutions are priority tasks of the country's modernization program put forward by President Medvedev.

The idea of holding a round table "The Family Through the Eyes of Youth" was developed in accordance with the city target program of the Moscow Government "Youth of Moscow" for 2011 - 2015, its implementation was a step towards the revival of old and the creation of new family traditions in Russia.

Representatives of the Department of Family and Youth Policy, employees of social services in Moscow, youth attended the "round table" in the Central House of Journalists.

Participants of the event discussed the problems of forming a positive attitude toward marriage among young people, increasing the prestige of the family way of life, responsibility in making a decision to create a family.

A few bright dance numbers were presented to the participants of the "round table" by the children's collective "The Nutcracker".

In the final of the event "The Family Through the Eyes of Youth" a reception was held, during which the participants of the "round table" could continue discussing important issues in a more informal atmosphere.

Thanks to the project "The Family Through the Eyes of Youth" it was possible to raise the prestige of the family way of life among the youth of the capital, to raise the level of knowledge about the rights and duties of the spouses.
