Fallout 4: "Institute" - good or bad?

In a relatively recently released role-playing game called Fallout 4, you can join various factions, each of which has its own story, its storyline, colorful characters and various possibilities. Naturally, this attracts a lot of gamers, because earlier in the post-apocalyptic RPG, there were practically no such opportunities, and this innovation opens up new and unique opportunities for fans of the genre. But what kind of factions exist in this game that are ready to take the player to their place during the passage of the story?

The following factions are available to you in Fallout 4: "Institute", "Brotherhood of Steel", "Underground" and "Minutemen". All these groups have their own view of the world after the catastrophe, and all of them can have friendly or slightly strained, or even frankly hostile relations between themselves.

In this article we will talk about the first faction, which is called in the game Fallout 4 "Institute". This is the largest and most advanced faction, but many people ask themselves: are they good or bad guys? Well, thanks to this material you can answer yourself this question.

How to enter?

In Fallout 4, the "Institute" is a very interesting institution whose history is worth exploring. However, first you need to answer the most important question of a gamer: how to get into this faction? How to become its full member in order to gain access to the database, as well as to those quests that the inhabitants of the future can give to you?

To do this, you need to discover the "Institute" itself, and doing it yourself is extremely difficult, almost impossible. Therefore, the most reliable way is to move on the storyline until you get to the Institutionalized quest. Here you will have the most convenient opportunity to join the faction, as this will be your story assignment. Of course, according to the plot, you simply collect a special device for teleportation to the "Institute" base and with the help of another faction, get in there, but you can already bring your visit to a qualitatively new level. How to do it?

To complete the story quest, you need to speak with the Father, the leader of the Institute. But after this conversation, when the quest will be considered completed, you can go to study the database and talk with the four leading experts, more about which will be told later. When you do this, you will get a quick access point to the base, that is, you can teleport at any time, and you will have the opportunity to take quests from those characters that you will meet on the base.

However, will you have such a desire in the game of Fallout 4? "The Institute" is a faction that almost everyone hates, and joining it will lead to certain consequences for your character. But how did the Institute get such a reputation?

Occurrence

So now you know how to start the Fallout 4 game for the "Institute". But the question is: is this really what you want? Is the work for the "Institute" suitable for your character? In order to deal with these issues, it is necessary to understand how this faction appeared and what it did during its existence.

Initially it was not a faction as such - it was the Boston Institute of Technology Commonwealth, where ordinary people studied and taught. More precisely, not quite usual - here were collected some of the best scientific minds in the world. But in 2077, during the war, Boston was bombed, and the people at that time in the institute were hiding in an underground bunker under the building to survive. They managed to do this, but they could not get out. Fortunately, the bunker had the necessary supplies for further survival, and the scientists united to continue to live underground and engage exclusively in scientific activities.

As a result, the "Institute" appeared, which gradually expanded a small bunker, turning it into a real underground base, untouched by war. You can get inside only with the help of teleport - there is no other connection with the surface at the base. That's why many players try to deal with the issue in the Fallout 4 game: where is the "Institute" located? But they are defeated time after time, since you can get there only with the help of a teleporting device.

The main achievement

There are a variety of useful consequences of the fact that you join this faction in the game Fallout 4 - the armor of the "Institute", for example, is very good. However, it is worth noting one more point, which is historical and very much influenced how the universe developed.

The fact is that scientists who were locked up underground, conducted a lot of scientific research and made a decent number of discoveries. The brightest of them were synths - androids, which are almost impossible to distinguish from ordinary people. For a time they served as assistants to mankind, but, naturally, it is very difficult, with so much evil on Earth, to adhere to humanity in such a situation. The Institute itself believes that synths are his property, not creatures with their own desires and their will. Therefore, there are opponents of the "Institute" who would like to get rid of their influence and release the Sints from the slavery of their creators.

So if you learn how to get into the "Institute" in Fallout 4, then you should understand that you will support a kind of tyrants - so enter there if you do not have any problems with it or if you are not developing the most kind character , Which in this game is quite possible.

Leading specialists

As already mentioned earlier, the Institute employs a large number of incredible specialists, scientists and real geniuses, who are engaged in a wide variety of developments. Among them, it is necessary to allocate five people - the Father, who is the current leader of the faction, as well as the four chapters of the various branches of the Institute.

Madison Lee is the woman in charge of the department for the development, creation and improvement of synths, which is called the Department of Higher Systems.

Clayton Holdren runs the Bioscience Division, which is responsible for plant breeding, drug development, and for providing the entire "Institute" with food.

Justin Ayo is one of the main "bad guys", since he is responsible for the department of robocontrol, depersonalizing synths. He controls the number of produced androids, where they were sent, whether they were destroyed in time, disposed of in the presence of malfunctions, and so on.

And, of course, it is worth mentioning the Infrastructure Department, which is engaged in the electric supply of the Institute, and is led by Elli Fillmore.

These are the characters that you will have to interact with if you choose the "Institute" as a faction in the Fallout 4 game. Good these people or bad - it's up to you, because every problem can always be looked at from different sides.

Legends about the "Institute"

Regardless of what exactly you think about the "Institute", the people of the Commonwealth practically all hate this faction and dream of having it destroyed. However, they themselves can not do this for known reasons - it is impossible to get to the "Institute" base without the necessary equipment. Therefore, this faction gradually becomes overgrown with legends that for experiments scientists kidnap people who then do not return. However, is this a legend? No one knows.

Relations with Podzemka

Relations between the "Institute" and "Podzemki" are extremely hostile - the problem lies precisely in the synths. Representatives of Podzemki abduct and reprogram the synths, thereby allowing them to become independent of the Institute, which considers them their property. If you play for the "Institute", then at the end of the game you will destroy the headquarters of the "Podzemka".

Relations with the "Brotherhood of Steel"

Also between these two factions is the war in the game Fallout 4. "Institute" or "Brotherhood of Steel"? Here the choice is no longer so moral, because both factions do not have particularly positive features. The problem of conflict is that the "Brotherhood" considers the synths to be supermutants, that is, disgusting creations created by human hands, and believes that they must be destroyed. In addition, between these two high-tech factions there is a struggle for access to high technologies. At the end of the game you will need to destroy the base of the "Brotherhood of Steel" by reprogramming their most powerful weapon, Liberty Prime.

Relations with the Minutemen

With this faction everything is much simpler - Minutemen are absolutely neutral with respect to the Institute, so if you do not provoke conflicts, nothing bad will happen. During the game, the synths will periodically raid the villages of Minutemen, but this will not grow into a global conflict.

Good or bad?

So, it's time to sum up - is the "Institute" a good faction or a bad one? Naturally, on a universal scale, we can safely say that the "Institute" is a real tyranny. Scientists create thinking robots with their feelings and desires - and put on them the brand of their property. Therefore, in the general picture, the "Institute" looks like a typical image of "bad guys".
