The plot of the film

A successful employee of a commercial bank, Vice President Andy Dufrain gets into an unpleasant story. He is accused of committing a crime, to which he has nothing to do. The murder of Dufreine's wife and her lover was essentially unsolved, but Andy, nevertheless, is found guilty, and he gets two life terms. He is to serve his sentence in Shawshank, a prison from which no one returns.

There Dufrein, using his knowledge and experience, begins to cooperate with the head of the zone, which deals with questionable cases related to the appropriation of financial resources. Andy settles down to work in the prison library and gradually comes to trust in the directorate and supervisors. After some time he manages to secretly get a geological hammer, with which you can hollow the wall.

Work that took twenty years

Dufrain begins to make a dig from his cell. The work takes exactly twenty years, and in the end he manages to escape through the sewer pipe. Entrance to the tunnel for the time that Andy spent outside the cell, he covered a large poster with the image of Hollywood actress Rita Hayworth. The work of Stephen King, on which the film is directed, is called "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank escape". Tim Robbins brilliantly coped with the role.
