Error while installing "Kaspersky" 1719: the simplest methods of fixing

It is not necessary to say that protecting the system using an antivirus package is one of the priorities for any user. Many people choose Kaspersky Lab products for installation. However, even a free "Kaspersky" - an antivirus that appeared relatively recently (before all products were paid or shareware), it does not want to install correctly into the system, issuing an error message with the number 1719.

What does the error mean when installing Kaspersky 1719?

Before deciding to fix the problem, let's consider the nature of the failure itself. Here you need to clearly understand that the same free "Kaspersky" is absolutely nothing to do with it. Error 1719 can also appear when installing other software products.

In fact, the error when installing Kaspersky "1719 (or any other software) is due solely to the malfunctioning of the Windows Installer or even to the absence of the" Setup Wizard "in the system as such. Proceeding from this, we can offer two simple solutions, the implementation of which will take only a few minutes.

Checking for Msiexec Service Registration

Suppose that the user experienced an error 1719 when installing "Kaspersky" (for Windows 10, take as an example). For the installation of any software product on the system, a special service is responsible in the form of an msiexec.exe executable file, which must first be checked in the System32 directory of the main Windows directory.

You can use the visual method by entering the name of the file in the search field of the Start menu, and then right-clicking on it in the Properties menu on the General tab to check the location. This method is useful if the specified file is located elsewhere (this can also be).

Now we need to check whether this location corresponds to the parameters registered in the system registry. We call the editor with the regedit command from the "Run" console and use the HKLM branch. In it, you need to go down the directory tree through SYSTEM, then - CurrentControlSet, and then - Services. There is a subfolder of msiserver. In the right part, we find the ImagePath key and double-click the parameter edit window. The value in the path of the location of the search file must match what was shown in its properties. If there is another value, you just need to change it to the correct value.

After that, you should reboot the system in safe mode, run the command line with admin rights, where you can set the msiexec / regserver command. Now you just need to restart the system in normal mode. The error should disappear.

"Kaspersky": Error 1719 (service "Setup Wizard" is not available). Reinstalling the component

The above method is only a means of re-registering the installation service module. But even after that, an error during the installation of Kaspersky 1719 may appear again. In this case, the installation service will have to be installed again. No tools other than the command line will be required.

Again, run it on behalf of the Administrator, and then enter the following lines sequentially with the input key after each of them:

  • Attrib -r -s -h C: \ Windows \ system32 \ dllcache;
  • Ren msi.dll msi.old;
  • Ren msiexec.exe msiexec.old;
  • Ren msihnd.dll msihnd.old;
  • Exit.

Next, as in the previous case, we reboot the computer in the normal mode. An error when installing Kaspersky "1719" (or any other software products) will no longer appear.

As for the mechanism for the operation of these commands, everything is simple: the existing files of the service are renamed to the old version, and after the restart the system installs the necessary components on their own (note that you will not be able to rename the file in Explorer in the usual way even if you have administrative privileges).

Conclusion

As can be seen from all of the above, eliminating the failure with the number 1719 is a fairly simple process. The only thing you need to remember about is the start of the toolkit with Administrator rights (otherwise the system will not make any changes, accordingly, the effect will be zero).

It remains to add that these are two fundamental solutions to eliminate such an error. Unfortunately, there are no other options for today, of course, except for a complete reinstallation of the system. You can try to copy the original file from the installation disc, but if you do not have one, these methods ensure that the failure is resolved all the way.
