Kharkov Academy of Culture. Kharkov Academy of Physical Culture and Sports

The Kharkov State Academy of Culture and the Sports Academy of the KMAFK are unique educational institutions for Ukraine. The training of future culturologists and athletes is conducted on the European system with the involvement of the best teachers of the country and foreign specialists.

Kharkov State Academy of Culture

It is a profile cultural and art institution of Ukraine IV level of accreditation, which in the country has no analogues. Here specialists of the European model are trained, "armed" with modern methods of obtaining knowledge, mechanisms of self-education, self-development and self-improvement.

The Kharkov Academy of Culture conducts a pedigree from the institute of political education, formed on 10.09.1929. Over the years of establishment, the university has many times changed the profile of activities and names:

  • Institute of Communist Education (1931);
  • The Library Institute (1935);
  • Institute of Culture (1964).

On June 8, 1998 the institute was transformed into a state academy.

Faculties

Back in 1996, by decision of the Cabinet, two fundamentally new specialties were opened as scientific branches of knowledge: "Cultural Studies" and "Social Communications". There are not many educational institutions in the country that could boast of such achievements.

Today the Kharkov Academy of Culture and Arts trains personnel in the following areas:

  • Faculty of social communications. Specialization: information activities, document management; Bibliology, library science and bibliography; Social pedagogy.
  • Faculty of Cultural Studies and Media Communications. Specialization: culturology; Management of socio-cultural activities; Advertising and public relations; Museum business, protection of historical monuments; Media communication.
  • Faculty of theatrical art. Specialization: acting; Directing mass holidays, stage music; Theatrical direction.
  • Faculty of Cinema, Telecasting. Specialization: directing television, television operator, teleoperator.
  • Faculty of choreographic art. Specialization: folk, ballroom, contemporary choreography; Physical culture and health.
  • Faculty of Management and Business. Specialization: administration, management; travel business; social Psychology; Philosophy, political science. The Kharkov Academy of Culture recently introduced a new discipline: management of innovation activities.
  • Faculty of Musical Art. Specialization: conducting and conducting; Folk instruments; Ukrainian folk singing; Variety, instrumental orchestra; Variety song; Theory of music.

Human resources

HGAC (Kharkov State Academy of Culture) is proud of its teaching staff. Almost all the scientists who work at the departments today have previously passed the school of scientific and creative artistic activity on the student's bench. The scientific activity of students in the educational process (preparation of abstracts, term papers, master's theses) is organically complemented by research and creative-performing activities in out-of-audit time. These are scientific circles and research groups, all-Ukrainian student olympiads in various academic disciplines, annual conferences of young scientists, city, regional and all-Ukrainian competitions for student work.

The certificate of high professionalism of the Academy's staff is the participation of many teachers in prestigious international competitions and festivals of masters of the arts. N. Kushnarenko, G. Aseev, L. Starodubtseva, B. Kolnoguzenko (twice) won the annual regional contest "Best Names".

Rectorate

It is known that the solidarity of the collective, especially the teaching staff, depends on the organizational talents of the heads of the university. The Kharkov Academy of Culture is in reliable hands:

  • Rector - Professor, Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian National Academy of Arts, Doctor of Historical Sciences Vasily Nikolaevich Sheiko.
  • The first pro-rector - associate professor, candidate of historical sciences Nikolai Nikolaevich Kanistratenko.
  • Vice-rector, head of scientific work - professor, doctor of pedagogical sciences Natalia Nikolaevna Kushnarenko.
  • Vice-rector, head of the administrative and economic part - Yury Petrunya.

Students

The Kharkiv State Academy of Culture has excellent performance indicators. About 50% of graduates today continue to lead various institutions of culture and art of Ukraine. A number of branches have become independent higher education institutions. HGAC has a serious authority, knowledge and foundation to continue to remain the best elite, leading university in Ukraine in the field of culture and continue to train European specialists in specialties that are in many ways unique.

The Kharkov Academy of Culture has brought up many outstanding personalities. There are well-established student creative teams:

  • Academic, folk choir, choral ensembles;
  • Bandurist band, ensemble of accordionists-bayanists, instrumental quartet "TsimBando";
  • National ensemble "Stozhary", folk groups "Paint", "Gorlitsa";
  • Variety, folk, chamber orchestras;
  • Jazz ensembles "Magnifica" and "Big Band", instrumental ensembles;
  • Educational theater, the theater of folk dance "Testament", the theater of folk dance "Estet", student theater of pop singing "Step";
  • Group "Skoda", ensemble of ballroom dance and others.

In recent years, hundreds of students have become laureates and diploma holders of international, all-Ukrainian competitions and festivals.

KSHAFC: Kharkov State Academy of Physical Culture

The history of the Academy begins with the founding of the State Institute of Physical Education of Ukraine (GIFKU) in 1930. The school of coaches opened at the Institute (1934) was transformed in 1936 into the national Higher School of Trainers. In 1944 GIFKU moved to Kiev and is now known as the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine.

In Kharkiv, the sports institute was revived on 13.03.1979, first as a branch of the CIGCF, and since 1989 as an independent educational and administrative unit. The status of the academy was awarded by the governmental decree on September 26, 2001.

Faculties

Kharkov State Academy of Physical Culture offers training in four faculties:

  • Martial Arts and sports games. Dean of the Faculty - Perevoznik Vladimir Ivanovich, Associate Professor, Candidate of Science in Physical Education and Sports. The faculty of sports games was founded in 1989, since 1991 it has been renamed sports and pedagogical, and since 1996 - in the faculty of martial arts and sports games.
  • Cyclic sports. Dean of the Faculty - Kotlyar Sergey Nikolaevich, Candidate of Physical Sciences, Associate Professor. The faculty was founded in 1991.
  • Physical education and human health. Since 2003 the faculty is headed by Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor Yu.A. Semenov. He is the legal successor of the Faculty of Informatics and Physical Rehabilitation.
  • Distance learning, retraining and advanced training. In 1984, on the basis of the Kharkov Sports Faculty, a correspondence department started working. In 1999 the correspondence department of KSAFK was transformed into a full-fledged faculty of correspondence education. In 2013, its functions have been expanded. The head of the faculty is the teacher Jim Viktor Yurievich.

Faculty of Physical Education and Human Health

Kharkov Academy of Physical Culture offers a wide range of training programs. Among all the teaching and teaching structures of the university, the Faculty of Physical Education is the largest. It consists of 10 departments:

  • Anatomy, biochemistry and sports medicine;
  • Recreation and physical rehabilitation;
  • Biomechanics and informatics;
  • Theory and methods of physical education;
  • Psychology and pedagogy;
  • Management of physical culture;
  • Biological foundations of physical education and sports;
  • Humanities;
  • Fitness and sports dances;
  • Gymnastics.

Training and achievements

Kharkov Academy of Physical Culture and Sports is one of the largest specialized universities in Ukraine. The total number of students in the Academy is more than 3000 people, of which about 2000 are full-time students and 1,000 are part-time students (including foreign citizens).

22 students were participants of the Summer Olympic Games in Athens in 2004. Two have won gold medals: Valery Goncharov (gymnastics) and Tedeev Elbrus (freestyle wrestling). Ruban Viktor (archery) won bronze.

At the Winter Olympics in Turin (2006), the Academy was represented by 8 students. At the XXIII World Summer Universiade (Izmir, Turkey) the academy was represented by 12 students who won 2 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals. At the XXIII World Winter Universiade (Turin, Italy) the academy was represented by 22 students who won 1 silver medal. At the VII and VIII summer and 1st winter Universiades of Ukraine the academy took the team place first.

Activities

The main tasks of the Academy are:

  • Training of highly qualified specialists for the branches of physical education, sports, health protection, education and other related branches.
  • Scientific activity.
  • Training of scientists and teachers of higher qualification (candidates and doctors of science).
  • Modernization of educational activities in the context of entering the European scientific and educational space.
  • Certification of scientific and pedagogical staff.
  • Advanced training, retraining.
  • Facilitating the preparation of high-class athletes from among students.
  • Assistance to sports organizations in setting up physical culture and sports work, teams of the region and Ukraine in scientific and methodological support.
  • Realization of scientific and industrial, cultural and educational, sports and recreation, publishing.
  • Establishment of international contacts, strengthening of the Academy's integration into the world educational and scientific space through cooperation with domestic and foreign educational, scientific institutions, scientists, specialists, etc.
