Error 924 in the "Playmarket": how to fix it?

Quite often, many Android users, in which the Play Market or Google Play service is "sewn" into the system, encounter a situation where the service itself starts to fail, while issuing a message containing error code 924 in the Play Store. Why there is such a failure and how to fix it, let's try to figure it out. The information below will help to correct other errors, especially since all methods are of the same type.

Error 924 in the "Play Store": the reasons for the occurrence

To begin with, we only note that it is necessary to clearly understand the nature of such a failure. In general, it is considered that all the mistakes of the four-hundred and nine-hundredth category are associated exclusively with the problems that arise in the service itself. This is partly true. But in a global sense, the problem can be much broader.

Among the main reasons for the appearance of system messages that the error 924 occurred in the Play Store, the following are called:

  • Interruptions with communication at the time of downloading or updating applications;
  • Lack of free space on the drive;
  • Improper settings of the parameters of access to the service;
  • Overflow of the application cache;
  • Problems with account recognition.

In this case, we are not talking about viruses, which also, probably, block access to this service, so such problems will not be considered. Let us dwell on how to fix the 924 error in the Play Store using standard methods that do not require the use of any special knowledge or third-party utilities. This is done quite simply. With all this, you can get rid of the accompanying failures of the above categories.

"Play market". Error 924 on "Android": what to do?

Ironically, many owners of smartphones and tablets very often do not pay attention to interruptions with communications. But even a short break affects the process of downloading an application, updating an existing program, or installing after downloading content as temporary files.

If there is an error 924 in the "Play Store" when downloading, first you need to make sure that the device is connected to a line or network with a good signal. This is the simplest thing that can be.

On the other hand, you should check the internal drive for free space if the installation or loading of distributions is not done on the SD card. It may very well be that the service simply can not download the necessary files. In this case, you need to clear the space by deleting unnecessary files or applications. You can do this when you enter the main settings menu, where you select either the application section or another category like photos, videos, etc. Generally, it's graphics and video that take up most of the space.

Setting of basic parameters

When trying to access the official service, one more thing should be considered. In the settings, background transfer and synchronization of your Google account must be enabled. If these default parameters are changed for any reason, the system will report that there was an error 924 in the Play Store.

Uninstalling service updates

However, the problem may not be limited to user actions. As it turns out, the service itself also has a "buggy" property. This is due to the "bugs" in the updates. On the one hand, they can simply be incorrectly installed, for example, when the connection is interrupted, on the other hand, and the service updates themselves are underdeveloped.

How to fix error 924 in the Play Store in this case? You just need to uninstall updates of the service itself, in the settings in the settings, go to the applications section, selecting the category "All" with a double right to the right, and then find the specified service with the button to delete the latest installed updates.

After doing such actions, the device needs to be rebooted. When Internet access is turned on, installation of the latest updates will start immediately, which are radically different from all the previous ones, as the errors are corrected.

Clearing the application cache

If this does not help, and error 924 in the Play Store appears again, you should pay attention to the program cache (and not only the service itself).

It can be cleaned in the same section of applications when you enter each program, where there is a corresponding button.

In order not to deal with such things manually, it's easiest to use utilities such as CCleaner that clean automatically after a full scan of the state of the mobile device.

Account Synchronization Issues

Another problem with the appearance of such a malfunction may be the situation when the service simply does not recognize the account to which this device is attached. To correct the situation, you need to enter the appropriate settings section and delete the existing registration.

After that, you will need to enter either existing Gmail mail data with a password, or newly created. However, this may not work either.

Reset to factory settings

Ideally, the easiest method to fix the problem is if the device automatically enables backups, which can be stored both on the device itself and in the "cloud". With a complete software reset, all information previously stored on the device will be restored, including contact lists, installed user applications, and even personal settings.

To perform this operation, go to the main parameters section, select the backup and restore menu, where to use the general reset string. Upon reboot, the system will start the recovery process itself. Account, password and settings for accessing the Internet connection will have to be re-entered manually. It is not ruled out that such a procedure will allow to eliminate the problem that has arisen.

Hard Reset: Is it worth it to do?

Finally, some users recommend using this reset method with zeroing of all data. However, in our case, this seems too drastic.

For example, for the same Sony Xperia smartphones, it's better to use the PC Companion utility, which allows any device to "bring to life" when connected to a computer via a USB port. Although the operation itself takes a lot of time, the result will surpass all expectations. For any other device, exactly the same programs can be found on official manufacturers' resources, so it is recommended to use hard reset exclusively in cases when absolutely nothing helps. But, as practice shows, this is not required. In most cases, the problem with "Play Store" is eliminated in the above ways completely elementary.

Of course, you can not exclude the problems of the failure of the operating system itself or damage to devices at the physical level. But in such a situation it will be necessary to act by other methods, which in some cases may imply interference in the design of the device. And if it was installed unofficial firmware at your own peril and risk, so in general no one will give a guarantee of the operability of the device after its installation. Sometimes, sometimes even resetting the settings does not help. So a hundred times you should think about it before installing it, because it can lead to irreparable consequences.
