Entertaining portal "Fishki.net": analogues, audience and history of appearance

"Fishki.net" - a humorous portal with a multi-million audience. The site has gained fame both in Russia and abroad, and at the moment is one of the largest entertainment resources in our country.

History of creation

The site "Fishki.net" was created in May 2004 by the programmer Alexander Rybak as a blog, where readers were given the opportunity to pass an hour or two after viewing and commenting on the entries proposed by the editors. Already in 2006, Rybak very profitably sold the portal to RBC's structures, after which Mikhail Gurevich, the head of RBC's subsidiary Mediamir, became the owner of Fishki.net.

The resource underwent significant changes in the hands of the new owner: by 2008 the site had been "combed" - they refused to publish erotica and other questionable content, and in 2013 the resource was launched on a new platform, which significantly renewed the "Fishki.net" brand itself.

Content

At the moment, the content on the site is quite diverse: funny pictures, photos, news, stories, collections, videos and hyphas - all that users expect from an entertainment resource. Analogues of "Fishki.net" use roughly similar material. It is noteworthy that the site has a particularly thrilling attitude towards political posts: for the political content, the section "Antiphishki" was created, which even has some moderators from among readers.

Another characteristic difference of "Chips" from other similar resources is the content on the main page. Materials that become the "face" of the site are created by the editorial board, however most of the entries appearing on the "Fishki.net" record are either created by users, or borrowed from other sites. In order to avoid conflicts with rights holders, the publication of materials from certain sites is limited or prohibited.

Lecture hall

The portal actively expands its audience: the materials of "Chips" are published not only on the main site, but also in the same-named groups in social networks Facebook and "Vkontakte". In addition, the resource is equipped with a "karmic" system - for quality posts and comments the user receives "karmic points", and trolling or placement of spam reduces their number. These karma points give users prestige in the community, as well as some privileges. Such a system contributes to both the motivation of users and the moderation of site materials.

According Gurevich, he seeks to make the site an adapted Russian version of the popular resource abroad BuzzFeed - one of the entertainment media with a huge audience and, in fact, an analogue of "Fishki.net." At the moment the site processes up to thousands of entries a day, and the monthly unique audience is more than 10 million users. The majority of users of the resource are young and active people, therefore the site materials correspond to the youth theme. However, Gurevich notes that the audience of the portal is "growing up" - visitors to the site are more and more interested in such topics as family and children, tourism, cars and cooking. Editors of the site carefully monitor the content was relevant, interesting and consistent with the company's "fishechnuyu" style.

Nearest analogues of "Fishki.net"

In RuNet and beyond, there is a large number of sites, similar in themes, structure and audience of the site. For example, a very popular resource "Pikabu". The audience is slightly larger, but many people consider its interface more convenient. And what are the comments of users on it, which sometimes become cruise phrases or "memes".

Another well-known analogue of "Fishki.net" is "Yaplakal". A very similar resource, both thematically and according to the structure of the audience.
