Preparation of material for flat compositions

For flat crafts, there are several methods of drying raw materials:

  1. Drying with hot iron. Autumn foliage and some small flowers are dried with an iron. To conduct this operation, the raw materials are laid out exactly on thick cardboard and covered with thin paper. Then it is carefully ironed until the moisture evaporates completely. The iron should not be very hot.
  2. Drying by natural method. For this method, the collected flowers, folded in bundles, are hung on a rope in a dry room, where there is good airing. The bundles are arranged in inflorescences downward. Created from such material of the eekbana from the leaves, "Autumn" will have an original natural appearance.
  3. Drying in an oven. This method is well suited for drying and preparing large single flowers (roses, tulips, peonies) for the manufacture of ekibana and compositions.
