Dyufaston: instruction and description

Many women today face hormonal disorders. One of the most common of these is the lack of progesterone. This problem can lead to serious consequences, including infertility. The drug, which is now widely used to solve it, is djufaston. The instruction recommends its use in endometriosis, infertility, premenstural syndrome, dysmenorrhea, irregular cycle, amenorrhea, uterine bleeding, habitual and threatening miscarriage. It is also used for hormonal therapy with estrogens.

The active ingredient dyufastone is dydrogesterone. It is very similar to progesterone for its pharmacological and chemical properties, as well as its molecular structure. For dydrogesterone, the side effects that occur with the use of androgenic progestogens are uncharacteristic, since this substance is not a derivative of testosterone.

Thermogenic, glucocorticoid, anabolic, androgenic and estrogenic activity is not possessed by djufaston. The description to it indicates that the drug does not affect the blood coagulability, carbohydrate metabolism and liver function. Duphaston affects the endometrium, reducing the risk of its hyperplasia and cancer, especially with an excess of estrogens. Its use is recommended for a lack of progesterone.

Many patients are interested in whether pregnancy is possible if they take dufaston. The instruction to the drug says that it does not have a contraceptive effect. Dydrogesterone provides a therapeutic effect without suppressing ovulation. Preservation of pregnancy and conception is possible during treatment.

The drug penetrates into the milk, so breastfeeding is unacceptable during therapy with the drug "Dufaston". The instruction to him warns about the following side effects:

  • Peripheral edema;
  • Itching and rash;
  • Abdominal pain, jaundice, malaise, weakness due to liver function disorders;
  • Urticaria, angioedema;
  • migraine;
  • Hemolytic anemia;
  • Breast sensitivity.

They are rare. Occasionally, uterine bleeding occurs. They can be prevented by increasing the dose. Contraindication to admission - individual intolerance.

The scheme of application of the medicine depends on the disease and the cycle of the patient. At its standard length, a woman stops taking dyufaston on day 25, and monthly doses come in 2-3 days after this. The beginning of taking the drug depends on the disease.

So, from the 5th day of the cycle, the pill is prescribed twice a day for dysmenorrhea and endometriosis. With the last disease the reception can be continuous, and the number of mg per day increased to 30.

From the 11th day of the cycle, it is recommended to take dufaston in amenorrhea, irregular cycles, premenstrual syndrome and for the prevention of uterine bleeding twice a day on a tablet. With infertility, the reception starts from the 14th day.

To stop uterine bleeding appoint a pill twice a day for a week. In case of a threatening miscarriage, it is recommended to take 40 mg of dufastone once, then to disappear the symptoms every 8 hours on a pill. With a habitual miscarriage it is taken twice a day for 10 mg before the 20th week of pregnancy, then gradually reduce the dose.

Dufaston does not affect the temperature. Therefore, when it is used, ovulation can be monitored by rectal measurement. The tablet contains 10 mg of the drug, in the package of 20.

So, djufaston, the instruction to which must necessarily be read before its use, is used for diseases that occur when there is a shortage of progesterone. Among them, infertility, endometriosis, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, cycle disorders, miscarriages, premenstrual syndrome and uterine bleeding. The scheme of admission and its duration is selected by the doctor individually.
