Duties and achievements in the resume. How to fill in the "Achievements" column in the CV

A long-known truth: the cadres decide everything. The human resources market is that eternal engine. Time passes, labels change, trademarks, faces, names of firms, positions, but the scheme remains unchanged. Ever the issue of choosing a job stood before everyone.

The first step on the road to employment is the preparation of a correct resume. Very fine line - it is necessary to describe the existing professional experience, without belittling or embellishing it, at the same time to state everything in the most structured and informative way. After all, how brightly and professionally you present yourself, describing your duties and achievements in the resume, depends on whether you get an invitation for an interview, or your response will remain uninteresting for the employer.

Define ambitions

So, we face the challenge of making a literate advertisement for ourselves as an employee.

The form of writing is standard enough - the resume should contain the personal data of the candidate, including contacts convenient for communication, information about education, experience, passed trainings or courses. An important point: in order to achieve the desired result, you need to identify your main professional or universal advantages.

A correct resume. How it should be

Sowing for a resume, one should adhere to the "golden" principles:

• Brevity. Your resume should be placed on 2-3 pages, not more.

• Structuredness. The information you indicate in the summary must be stated in a certain sequence and exactly match the form chosen earlier.

• Objectivity. Pointing your experience and skills, moderate creativity and imagination, be objective and realistic. Emphasize the results achieved with the use of action verbs. By the same principle we fill the section "Achievements" in the summary .

• Specificity. It is recommended to be as specific as possible in the choice of formulations, as well as indicating their duties and achievements in the summary.

• Selectivity. Analyze your already existing professional experience, choose from it only what will be most useful when achieving the goal.

• Positivity. Prefer negative information. The description, definition, narration of information through negation will not play into your hands.

• Focus on achievements. Identify and focus on your achievements. How to fill in the box "Achievements" in the summary, we will tell you later. Confused, do not know what to attribute to your achievements? Think: maybe you should look better? What do you already have, what happened, succeeded? Recall that a well-written summary in the end should be easy enough to read not only professionals in your segment, but also by selection managers. It is necessary to write duties, functions, achievements (summary in general, this also applies) briefly, but capacitively, to reflect the entire work experience.

Standard chronological summary

To date, the standard form is the so-called chronological summary. It starts with the last job and then lists all the others in descending order. Do not rush to immediately record your duties and achievements in the resume, you should not rush things.

Let us illustrate this with an example of a step-by-step compilation of such a summary.

Begin with the surname, name, patronymic, contact details and the designation of the desired position. It will be nice if you supplement your resume with a photograph in a business style.

Education

Do not make a strong emphasis on education, if you have completed your studies long enough. It is quite possible to manage the period of study, the name of the university, faculty and specialty. But the students, on the contrary, are recommended to give education a key place.

You can specify the topic of the thesis project and some coursework that you did during the training period. If you have several diplomas, they are usually listed in reverse chronological order. In describing your education, you do not need to globally deepen and remember the education in high school. It is unlikely that this memorable fact exclusively for you will characterize you as a professional.

Briefly about the main

So, we came to the key section of our resume - "Work Experience". The main task here is to show that you can perform the qualitative performance of the proposed functional. Duties and achievements in the resume should be stated so that you managed to convince the employer that exactly you need him. This, of course, will help your previous work experience.

Immediately a few tips: describe the information on the following scheme: the period of work (dates of employment and dismissal), the correct and full name of the organization, then always indicate the market segment occupied by the company, its scope of activities, as well as the position and responsibilities in the resume. You can give even more informative if after each job you will indicate the reason for your leaving.

Primary Screening

We do not forget that the section "Work experience" is the most important, besides the most informative point of the resume. The section "Skills and achievements" is looked at first. Think: your resume is read for 1-2 minutes, and during this time the manager should find in it useful for themselves moments. Try to help him with this, make your resume properly. Make it in a single, comfortable for reading style.

The abstract should be constructive

Quite common phrases: "there is a lot of experience," "good managerial experience," "brilliant organizational skills," and others, except that they carry absolutely no information, are not at all interested in the employer, because if you did not take the time to correctly state your Duties, then why should he spend this time on you?

Do not know how to describe professional achievements and results in a resume or are afraid to point out something wrong? Refer to your job description. But do not make the mistake of many, do not literally copy and paste the paragraphs from the instruction into the resume form, at least it looks ridiculous, as a maximum - it casts doubt on such competence as communicative: you can not tell in your own words what you yourself did The information is copied and ridiculously inserted as a template. We were faced with the question of what to write in the section "Achievements" in the resume, where to write and who generally needs it? It is necessary, do not doubt.

Memoirs are not required

Talking about job responsibilities, do not set out to mention them all to one, choose about 5-7 main ones, and enough. The employer is not interested in your entire life journey, it is important for him to follow the last 3-5 years of professional activity. So do not overload the resume with additional and unnecessary information. In detail, it is worth a maximum of 2-3 last jobs. Others will just be enough to mention without delving into duties.

Fill in the resume (the column "Achievements", as well as "Key skills") can be planned in such a way as to include in it actions that you really know how to do at least well and that were applicable in the work experience. Remember that when making a resume it is not accepted to be modest. Your main task is to increase the "marketability", to present yourself from its best side. At the same time, information must be objective, necessarily based on facts from previous experience. What else you need to remember when you are doing such a thing as filling out a resume? The "Achievements" column, in addition to information on successfully completed projects and promotion, should contain information about foreign languages if their level of ownership is really high.

In the final section "Additional information" it is recommended to indicate your personal qualities that help you achieve professional goals, and your professional guidelines in general. This section should help the employer determine why he should hire you.

Do not forget to adhere to the requirements for registration, impeccable literacy and stylistic unity, and your resume will certainly attract a potential employer.
