Dostoevskaya metro station is a place worth visiting

The metro station "Dostoevskaya" is a fairly new metro station. Residents of Moscow were able to use it only recently, in 2010, and some visitors of the city still can not guess about its existence.

And in vain ... The place is really interesting ...

The metro station "Dostoevskaya". General information and history

It is not at all difficult to guess, in honor of whom this station was named. F.M. Dostoevsky with his creativity left a significant mark not only in Russian, but, undoubtedly, in world literature.

Why is it so, after all, as you know, Russia-Mother is famous for its masters, as a pen, so, say, brushes? The thing is that the great writer once lived in the vicinity of Novaya Bozhedomka Street, which is now also renamed in his honor.

Purely geographically the metro station "Dostoevskaya" is located between "Trubnaya" and "Marina Grove" along the Lublin-Dmitrovskaya line, not far from the well-known street of Tverskaya, which belongs to the Central District of the city.

If you go a little deeper into history, you can find that the construction of two stations - Dostoyevskaya and Suvorovskaya - was planned back in the 1990s, the projects were adjusted, but due to lack of funds they were frozen for some time.

For several years the erection was postponed, it was taken seriously only in 2007. However, even then, something constantly stood in the way: then the "Dostoevsky" lacked funding, the workers could not adjust the escalators, the interior design was considered too gloomy.

In the end, it was inaugurated in June 2010.

Dostoevskaya metro station. How does it look from the inside ?

Mortgaged at a depth of 60 meters, Dostoyevskaya is considered a deep station. To date, it has two outputs, the first of which is located near the Central Academic Theater. Russian army, and the second, which has not yet been built, will in the future go to Suvorov Square.

As a rule, traditional materials for such objects are granite and marble, and "Dostoevskaya" is the metro, which was no exception.

However, here there is a zest, represented by a white fiberglass vault. Undoubtedly, this gave the room some airiness and lightness. The design is made using black and white colors and, of course, is dedicated to the life and work of FM. Dostoevsky.

At the end you can see a portrait of the writer, and on the walls of curious visitors can read the quotes from his works. At first, the design was subjected to harsh criticism from the public. The author was accused of excessive gloominess, aggressiveness and even some bloodthirstiness of the interior. But the artist I. Nikolaev was able to defend his offspring, officially declaring that, using scenes from the "Idiot", "The Brothers Karamazov", "Demons" and "Crime and Punishment", he wanted to emphasize the depth and tragedy of the great man's creativity.

Dostoevskaya metro station. What to see in the vicinity ?

Perhaps, one of the main attractions should be Catherine Park. It was defeated long ago, but it was only possible to arrange it in 2005. Now it is a very attractive holiday destination for both locals and numerous tourists.

It should be noted that most of the institutions located in the vicinity are more or less connected with the Russian army. Having gone here, the tourist has the opportunity to visit the above-mentioned Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army, the Museum and Planetarium of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and also to visit the Studio of Military Artists.

Of course, there is nothing surprising in the fact that next to the station is the apartment of the author himself, some time ago it became a popular museum.
