Do kitten's eyes fester? What to do? Treat!

Many owners of fuzzy dodgers (cats) often face a problem at the earliest life of their pet - the kitten 's eyes fester. What to do in this case? After all, this problem in no case can not be avoided, since in the eyes of the animal there are any inflammatory processes, which, unfortunately, were not noticed in time.

The kitten's eyes are festering! What to do?

First you need to find the reason. There are quite a few of them. We will tell about the most famous.

  1. For example, the eyes of a kitten may become inflamed due to an untreated conjunctivitis. For example, if the process of treatment itself was not carried out exactly as needed, or was not brought to the full recovery of the cat.
  2. Trauma on the eyelid is often accompanied by damage to the conjunctiva. How does this happen? On the mucous membrane of the cat's eye there are some foreign objects. There is irritation. The danger is that the foreign body can affect the cornea and the sclera of the eye, and this is already a direct way to penetrate a purulent infection.
  3. Sometimes this is the result of a cat's disease called "blepharitis", which can be provoked by chemical, traumatic and thermal effects on the eyelids. As a result, microbes, pathogenic fungi and viruses penetrate. To no good this, as you and I understand, does not.
  4. Another reason why kittens have festering eyes is inflammation of the cornea. This is a common disease, accompanied by the release of pus.

This, perhaps, is the most common reason why a kitten's eyes fester.

What to do?

The answer is simple: treat! But not independently, but with the help of a feline doctor, in other words, a veterinarian. Please do not let it go by itself. Remember: although a cat has several lives, but in this case nothing will be cured by itself, because the disease is purulent! A qualified specialist will take tests from your pet and send them to the laboratory for a study. This will help determine the infectious cause (cause). After this, the veterinarian will determine the sensitivity to antibiotics.

Eye treatment in cats

First of all, it will be necessary to eliminate the cause, which provoked the development of the pathological process. Remember! From a well-defined prerequisite will depend on what kind of treatment measures will suit your pet.

For example, if a kitten had a bruise or a trauma to the eye, then his (glazik) veterinarian will thoroughly clean it with gauze tampons soaked in hydrogen peroxide (3%). Everything is done very carefully, otherwise there is a risk of damaging the very conjunctiva. Then the veterinarian will wash the eye with a solution of potassium permanganate (potassium permanganate) and necessarily drip drops containing antibiotics. The doctor will show the owners of the cat how to do it. In the future, they will treat their pet at home for the entire period, while the kitten's eyes fester.

What if your furry creature gets sick with blepharitis? Do not worry! Everything is simpler here. To find out and immediately remove the cause that provoked the disease, the doctor will recommend placing the kitten in a clean and, most importantly, well-ventilated room. In addition, the animal will need a balanced diet, since often the cause of blepharitis is feline avitaminosis. If the glazik glued together with a crust of pus, Vaseline oil is used. This will soften the selection. Remove them with a tampon pre-moistened in a solution of hydrogen peroxide (3%).
