Design and specifications of Toyota Prius

Since the very first generation, which debuted in 1997, the Japanese hatchback Toyota Prius was positioned as an ecological car. The name "Prius" was invented by the Japanese for a reason, because this word in Latin means "go further". That is, the developers originally planned to create a "car of the future". In 2003 the company developed the second generation of "eco-cars", after which the novelty won great popularity all over the world. At the moment the concern successfully produces and sells the Toyota Prius hatchback. The technical characteristics of this car changed slightly in 2010 (this was the last update of the model). Then the company presented the third generation of legendary subcompacts. Now this five-door hatchback of class "D" is officially delivered to Russia, so today we will devote close attention to this "hybrid", namely, we will consider the design, technical characteristics of the Toyota Prius and learn the exact cost.

Appearance

The exterior of the updated hatchback has changed very little. With the preserved triangular headlights and the characteristic body shape, it remained as yet recognizable. But if you take a closer look, you can see a small change in the body structure. Now the roof of the car has moved a little back, and the car has advanced forward on 25 millimeters. In addition, engineers provide for the possibility of installing solar panels on the top of the novelty. The energy that will be produced from them will activate the split-control system. It is worth noting that now the technical characteristics of the Toyota Prius have become an order of magnitude higher, and all thanks to a reduced coefficient of aerodynamic resistance. Now this indicator has decreased to a mark of 0.25. Looking at this characteristic, we can say with certainty that the designers designed the body more than one day, because even in European sedans this ratio is at least 27-29.

Technical characteristics of Toyota Prius

The machine is supplied with one eco-engine with a capacity of 99 horsepower and a working capacity of 1.8 liters. It is worth noting that now the technical characteristics of the Toyota Prius in terms of fuel consumption have become a record for the entire history of the model's existence - the car consumes a maximum of 4.7 liters per 100 kilometers of the track (this is almost 0.5 liters less than the second generation). By the way, the system allows the driver to change the mode of operation (there are three of them in total) depending on road conditions. In addition, the novelty has a record dynamics, which would be envied by many European subcompacts. Hundreds of cars gain in 10 seconds, and the speed of the car is about 180 kilometers per hour. As you can see, the Toyota Prius engine is very powerful and at the same time economical.

Price

In Russia, the novelty will be sold in a single package "Prestige". The price for it is about 1 million 175 thousand rubles.
