Decorative turf: planting and care

Practically the ideal plant for a garden or city squares, can grow on any soils and in any climatic conditions. Deren, planting and caring for which is reduced to regular watering and, possibly, loosening of the soil, belongs to the family Corneal and can delight not only with beautiful flowering, but also with bright berries. However, it must be remembered that not all varieties are edible or useful to humans.

The location of the plant can be both bright sunny places, and a light penumbra. Sites without lighting are not very suitable, as the plant will give pale flowers and berries will not ripen. Frost and polluted urban air shrub derene white or any other kind will carry out perfectly, without losing its decorativeness. Monochrome varieties, especially light, like the eastern side of the plot with light penumbra. The northern side is suitable only for specially developed ornamental species, for example the sod of the offshoot, whose leaves have an amazingly pure green color. So you can plant and the white turf. Landing is desirable from the leeward side, but not in a remote corner where there is no air movement.

The soil is chosen from the usual fertile garden, but necessarily wet, that is, sandy soil types do not fit. Deren, planting and care of which involves only regular watering, grows and on clay soil, but it should be slightly diluted with peat to prevent root souring. Shrubs require a large number of nutrients, so the planting hole is made of quality organic, fresh humus or compost. If the groundwater is high on the site, it is worthwhile to make a reliable drainage.

The transplant can be performed at any convenient time of the year: in spring, in summer or in autumn. However, it is necessary to avoid especially arid days, which do not like the turf. Planting and nursing depends on the initial state of the plant. If the roots were slightly dried up - the seedling should be placed in ordinary fresh water for 2-3 hours. Shrimp shoots are cut about one third of the maximum length to the root, this will ensure good rooting and rapid growth of new branches. The age of the seedling should not exceed 4 years, otherwise it will be difficult to form the desired shape of the plant in the future. The distance between the wells is maintained at 30-50 cm, so that the weaker or more disadvantageously located turf does not die. Planting and care includes mandatory pruning of excess branches, but only from the second year of vegetation in one place.

The plant can be propagated by means of traditional cuttings or vegetatively, and the ideal for this time is considered to be the first 10-15 days of June. Watering the turf should be two or three times a month for 2 buckets per plant, if there is a dry summer - you can shorten the gap between these procedures to one week. Fertilize the bushes with mineral fertilizing, according to the instructions, and make compost with quality humus in the summer, in the amount of 5 kg around one trunk. Loosen the soil only with the goal of getting rid of weeds, to a depth of up to 7 cm, and rarely with strong compaction of the soil. Old branches must be removed by the sector every spring and autumn, so that the turf does not lose attractiveness, and the berries do not crush. No winter shelter for the plant is required.
